What's new: PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions 9.0 feature pack 1

Oracle has announced the general availability of the first feature pack for PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions release 9.0. Enriching and extending the quality of information an institution has about individuals and organizations that interact with it is the goal of constituent management and the focus of feature pack 1 which was released June 30, 2009.

This new release is the first in a series of feature packs planned for campus solutions 9.0 as part of the product suite's new continuous software delivery model. Under this model, Oracle will deliver periodic application feature packs, which will enable institutions to access and implement new functionality to meet immediate needs and gradually build the infrastructure they need to leverage newer, more robust and flexible technologies.

The continuous software delivery model will enable higher education institutions to move away from reliance on major upgrades, which can be costly and disruptive, and create a more timely, flexible innovation cycle with feature packs.

Demonstrating Oracle's commitment to modernizing the Campus Solutions' architecture, this and future feature packs will include SOA-based functionality. By gradually shifting PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions to a SOA, Oracle is delivering next-generation functionality while supporting existing implementations and helping higher education customers avoid high costs and risks. PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions 9.0 feature pack 1 delivers the following new features and functionality:
