Under the agreement, Oracle will:
Grant software licenses for Oracle Database 10g, Oracle Application Server 10g, and Oracle Developer Suite 10g
Provide training, seminars, and workshops for teachers
Provide educational support services for IT faculty to implement a long-term Oracle Academy program that will improve the students’ IT skills
Offer Oracle courses to students at HUT beginning in March 2007
The agreement was inked by Professor Dang Van Chuyet, Dean, HUT, and Ho Thanh Tung, General Director, Oracle Indochina, and witnessed by Derek Williams, Chairman and Executive Vice President, Oracle Asia Pacific and Japan.
“This is part of our long-term commitment to develop IT skills in Vietnam’s software industry,” Derek said. “We are delighted to partner with the Faculty of IT at Hanoi University of Technology to bring the Oracle Academy to its students. This program will help students learn Oracle technologies early on, and ensure they are equipped for a career in information technology after graduation.”
“We believe we are giving our students an opportunity to embrace a more fulfilling IT career with practical experience and hands-on knowledge of technology and business applications software,” said Dang Van. “This agreement will equip students with the necessary skills that can be applied to their careers in the future.”
The Oracle Academy is one of the most comprehensive academic offerings in the IT industry, providing software, hosted software, technology and business curriculum, and certification resources to teachers in secondary and higher education institutions. The program delivers hands-on technical experience to prepare students for both IT and business careers, and provides faculty with professional development resources to further their own careers.
