Students from more than 1,000 schools in India had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, world-renowned space scientist and Indian Parliament member, as part of Science Outreach Month. Hosted by the Oracle Education Foundation’s Think.com online learning community, this educational experience was organized by the Bangalore Association of Science Education as one of several science-related activities scheduled throughout February.
“I commend the Bangalore Association of Science Education and Think.com for putting together an interesting Science Outreach Month. Developing student interest in science is key to creating an educated and open-minded generation who is able to make informed decisions,” Dr. Kasturirangan commented.
“Think.com is helping thousands of students and teachers in India learn science, math, and English through an interactive and collaborative method. I am glad the Bangalore Association of Science Education chose Think.com to host Science Outreach Month programs,” said Krishan Dhawan, Managing Director, Oracle India.
In addition to the interaction with Dr. Kasturirangan, other activities to be hosted on Think.com as part of the Science Outreach Month celebration include:
A Sunny Glaze – An interaction on everything about the sun in the International Heliophysical Year with Dr. B S Shylaja, Educator at Bangalore Association of Science Education.
Incredible CV Raman – An interaction hosted by Mr. Madhusudan, Educator at Bangalore Association of Science Education, to capture the spirit of the National Science Day and showcase how Dr. CV Raman, 1930 Physics Nobel Prize Winner, can be emulated by the younger generation.
An Early & Natural Advantage for Good Health – An interaction on lifestyle and health, issues, trends, and treatment techniques in cardiology with Dr. Shivakumar, Pediatric Cardiologist.
