The Oracle E-Business Suite was the core of the success of LG.Philips LCD's project."
LG.Philips LCD currently processes its business year-end closings globally within 2.5 days and is targeting two days by the end of 2002. POSCO
"By simplifying and integrating our business processes using the Oracle E-Business Suite, we've experienced a number of business benefits including reducing product delivery time by 30 days to 14 days, shortening budgeting time from 110 days to 30 days and reducing month-end closing time to one day," said Ryoo Kyeong Ryul, chief information officer for POSCO. "We basically redesigned the entire organization and its business processes to help reduce redundancies, increase business efficiency and maximize corporate value."
The need for a new global standard was the major driver, leading POSCO to implement the Oracle E-Business Suite, including Oracle Financials, Oracle Human Resources, Oracle Manufacturing, Oracle Projects, and Oracle Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Applications. Oracle Consulting worked with PriceWaterhouseCoopers to complete POSCO's Oracle implementation. POSCO is the world's largest steel manufacturer.
Westpac Banking Corporation
"The Oracle E-Business Suite has played a significant role in managing and handling the bank's high volume of financial transactions," said Warren Dunne, head of Financial Systems for Westpac Bank. "Because Oracle General Ledger is scalable and flexible, we can account for all of the bank's operations using a single chart of accounts, ultimately providing us with additional information needed for decision-making and removing the necessity for expensive reconciliation processes."
Using the Oracle E-Business Suite, Westpac consolidated multiple general ledger accounts to one single view that is available to the entire organization. The consolidation has facilitated quicker reporting to the executive team, allowing for value-added analysis rather than static historical reporting. Oracle Consulting worked closely with Westpac to help the bank complete its upgrade to the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i. Founded in 1811, Westpac is Australia's oldest financial institution.
Customers using the Oracle E-Business Suite in other areas of the world include Agility Communications, Inc.; British American Group; Braathens ASA; Celox Networks, Inc.; Commercial Net Lease Realty, Inc. (CNLR); Emarat; Empirix Corporation; Galgon Industries, Inc., Inter-Tel, John I. Haas, Inc.; McDATA Corporation, Michaels Stores, Inc.; Ocado; and United Asset Coverage.
