Oracle Outpaces Competition in Asia Pacific, Achieves Significant Customer Wins in FY05
Delivers Record 80% Growth in Applications Q4 Revenue and Extends Technology Market Leadership
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.,   11-JUL-2005 02:43 PM    Oracle today announced total revenues of US$1.713 billion for the fiscal year FY05 (ended May 31, 2005) for the Asia Pacific region, a 15% growth compared to FY04. The Asia Pacific region accounted for 15% of worldwide FY05 revenues. Asia Pacific's new license revenues for applications and technology for full year FY05 grew 46% and 12% respectively, compared with FY04. Total new license revenues for Asia Pacific grew 15% from the FY04, contributing to 19% of worldwide FY05 new license revenues.

For the fourth quarter of FY05, Asia Pacific's total revenues grew to US$540million, a 23% increase from Q4FY04. The Asia Pacific region accounted for 14% of worldwide total Q4FY05 revenue. In particular, new license revenues for applications and technology in the region grew 80% and 10% respectively, compared with Q4FY04. Total new license revenues for Asia Pacific grew 18% from the Q4FY04 and accounted for 17% of worldwide Q4FY05 new license revenues. (All figures above are in USD and on GAAP basis.)

Oracle has today over 25,000 technology customers and over 4,000 applications customers across the Asia Pacific region.

Center of Excellence for Financial Services Industry (January 2005) in China

Strategic Acquisitions to Support Customers:
In January 2005, Oracle completed the acquisition of PeopleSoft, Inc., and confirmed its long-term commitment to the continued and consistent support of PeopleSoft and JD Edwards products, together with product development and product support roadmaps. During the year, Oracle also acquired Oblix, Inc., a leading developer of identity management software and Retek Inc., a leading provider of solutions to the retail industry. Most recently, we also acquired TimesTen, Inc., a privately held supplier of real-time data management software (June 2005/FY06) and ProfitLogic, a privately held provider of Retail Profit Optimization solutions (July 2005/FY06) to expand its solution capabilities.

Growing in the Mid-Market:
Oracle offers the widest software product portfolio today to address the needs of mid-market business. Oracle's applications and technology products packaged for this market segment include: Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World for applications; and, Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition One and Oracle Application Server 10g Standard Edition One for technology. By demonstrating business value and investing in its partner network, more than 50% of Oracle's customer base in Asia Pacific today comprises small- and mid-sized companies.

Driving Applications and Technology Product Innovation:
Oracle unveiled several new products and product enhancements during fiscal year 2005, including Oracle Collaboration Suite 10g, Oracle Database 10g Release 2, Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10, Oracle CRM 11i.10, Oracle Procurement Contracts, Oracle Services Procurement, Oracle Supplier Network, Oracle Product Information Management Data Hub, PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management 8.9 and JD Edwards World A7.3 Service Pack 16.

Expanding the Oracle Partner Network
Oracle's network of more than 1,550 partners across the region offer local expertise and support to meet customer requirements across its technology and applications product portfolio. Some 80% of Oracle's revenue in Asia Pacific is delivered through partners.

Contributing to the Community:
Underpinning Oracle's philanthropic efforts in Asia Pacific are the Oracle Education Initiatives1, comprising four programs: Think.com, ThinkQuest, Oracle Academy and Oracle Academic Initiative. Centered around education and learning, these efforts have touched thousands of educational institutions and hundreds of thousands of students and teachers across Asia Pacific. In addition, last year, Oracle raised nearly $2 million in donations for the tsunami relief efforts through individual contributions and the company's matching program. Oracle also contributed database systems to support relief operations and expertise to assist with developing tsunami-warning systems.
