Oracle today announced the vast involvement of
independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators (SIs) and hardware vendors in its beta
program to thoroughly develop and test joint solutions based on Oracle® Database 10g Release 2
(see related press release). More than 100 companies – including Cerebra, InforSense, Leica
Geosystems Geospatial Imaging, Siderean and Tom Sawyer Software – are working closely with
Oracle to help ensure Oracle Database 10g Release 2 meets the wide-ranging business needs of
its customers.
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 features increased availability, manageability,
performance and security capabilities to assist customers and partners achieve a higher quality of
service while helping to reduce the cost and complexity of information management. Beta
program participants previewed enhancements to Oracle Automatic Storage Management and
Oracle Real Application Clusters, as well as new features such as Oracle Secure Backup and
Oracle XML Query.
Partners Benefit from Broad Range of Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Capabilities
Cerebra is the leading provider of standards-based, enterprise-ready, semantic technologies.
Cerebra leverages the W3C standard Web Ontology Language (OWL) and Resource Description
Framework (RDF) to dramatically improve the way vocabulary, data, process, policy, and Web
services interoperability are accomplished.
"As an Oracle partner, I am very excited about Oracle Database 10g Release 2," said Jeff
Pollock, vice president, Technology, Cerebra. "The new RDF capabilities in Oracle Spatial bring
enterprise-class scalability and performance to graph databases. Cerebra will work with Oracle to
apply these strengths for joint customers using semantic technologies to enable the real-time
adaptive enterprise."
InforSense is the leading supplier of integrative analytics infrastructure to support
effective decision-making across the life science, healthcare and business domains. InforSense
has collaborated closely with Oracle in testing and integrating the business intelligence and
analytic capabilities of both releases of Oracle Database 10g.
"InforSense's technology is tightly coupled with Oracle technology," said Professor Yike
Guo, CEO and founder, InforSense. "We welcome the new analytics in Oracle Database 10g
Release 2, such as decision trees, providing our joint customers with a comprehensive choice of
in-database processing capabilities for enterprise-wide integrative analytics."
A partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging is best
known for its broad array of products that capture data efficiently, reference imagery accurately,
measure quickly, analyze easily, and present spatial information, even in 3D. Leica Geosystems
has worked closely with Oracle to deliver unique and powerful spatial technology solutions.
"With Oracle Database 10g Release 2, Oracle now has the critical capability to store and
operate against compressed geospatial raster data improving performance, helping to reduce
storage and maximizing network resources," said Jim Farley, vice president, Business
Development, Leica Geosystems. "This means lower costs for our customers in defense, national
mapping and local applications in planning and Homeland Security among others."
Siderean Software provides navigation software that automatically organizes all digital
information – structured and unstructured – into intuitive groupings that permit users to rapidly
grasp the scope of what's available and to pinpoint precisely what they require. As a member of
the Oracle PartnerNetwork, Siderean has worked closely with Oracle to deliver unique and
powerful information aggregation and navigation technology.
"The future of information navigation will enable enterprises to access both structured
and unstructured data seamlessly to find the exact information they need," said Bradley P. Allen,
CTO and founder, Siderean Software. "The support of the RDF Data Model in Oracle Database
10g Release 2 is a major step toward this vision. Combined with Siderean's Seamark Navigation
Server, customers can now deliver a new generation of applications, where users navigate
uniformly through all digital information, leveraging the inter-relationships of content to pinpoint
results."
Tom Sawyer Software produces graph visualization, layout, and analysis component
software that is designed for use by application developers. Tom Sawyer enables customers to
reduce their development expenses significantly, shorten product cycles and add substantial new
value to their applications.
"As a provider of products for the visualization of complex relationships, our experience
shows that the database representation of data relationships as graphs is critical for accessing
connectivity information," said Brendan Madden, CEO, Tom Sawyer Software. "We used the
Oracle Network Data Model in Oracle Database's latest release for an application that is
dedicated to the representation of large biological pathways and found that it greatly reduced our
implementation effort and enabled a high level of performance."
