Garden of Life, one of the fastest growing companies in the nutritional supplement industry, chose Oracle applications over SAP to help improve both the operational efficiency of its supply chain and the management of its national distribution channel.
"Our supplements are available in more than 10,000 retailers, including Whole Foods, The Vitamin Shoppe, Wild Oats, select GNC stores, independent health food stores, mail-order retailers and physicians' offices. Oracle clearly understood our business and our industry better than other vendors we considered and provided us with a complete solution that could streamline business across our entire organization, especially our supply chain," said Robert Craven, CEO of Garden of Life. "We also found that the interface of the Oracle products was easier to use than what we saw from SAP, which is key for getting our team to learn to use the new system and realize its benefits."
NCH Corporation and its domestic and international affiliates manufacture and market an extensive line of maintenance, repair and supply products to customers in over 50 countries worldwide. The company chose Oracle applications over SAP to manage operation for the production and delivery of its chemical specialties, maintenance supplies, fasteners, welding alloys, pet products and plumbing parts.
"It's very important that we have a system that helps us maintain product controls and provides accurate information about compliance with standards set by the USDA and FDA. All of our major manufacturing facilities are ISO 9002 certified, and we maintain a continuous commitment to quality assurance and customer satisfaction," said Bruce Weinberg, CIO of NCH Corporation. "After significant evaluation it was clear that Oracle applications were more flexible, easier to deploy and easier to maintain, and Oracle made available a larger labor pool to assist us with implementation. Oracle went out of its way to understand our business and industry needs and the support both pre- and post-sale as been very solid."
Remy Corp., a leading provider of integrated human capital solutions, selected PeopleSoft applications over SAP to support front and back office operations. A key factor for Remy's decision was the functionality provided by PeopleSoft Enterprise Service Automation and PeopleSoft Staffing Front Office, two applications that SAP does not offer.
"Today 40 of the top 100 staffing firms use PeopleSoft to run their business. SAP couldn't give us the flexibility to address our needs, and it doesn't have a footprint to accommodate the staffing industry, which is one of the fastest growing industries," said Andrew Albarelle, Principal Executive Officer of Remy Corp. "I've been pleased with the road map that Oracle has laid out."
New Age Electronics, Inc., a leading provider of consumer technology sales and supply chain solutions, selected Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition over SAP to enable it to provide customers such as Costco.com, Target.com, military exchanges and CDW, as well as its manufacturer partners, with accurate, more timely information.
"After evaluating solutions from Oracle and SAP, we decided that the functionality and integration offered in the Oracle applications would be a better investment as New Age continues to experience tremendous growth," said Adam Carroll, president of New Age Electronics. "We're confident in the decision to select Oracle and believe it will allow New Age to maintain sales growth and continue to drive cost out of the supply chain for both manufacturer and retail partners."
