Oracle today announced that three customers in Bosnia
and Herzegovina (BiH) - manufacturing conglomerate MIMS Group, food producer Klas
d.d. and the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP) - have chosen
Oracle® E-Business Suite to help consolidate their business processes and
introduce internal efficiencies.
MIMS Group, head quartered in Sarajevo, is comprised of eight retail outlets,
two catering establishments and four wholesale warehouses involved in paper,
plastics, food, garment and glass manufacturing. The group has centralized its
core business processes which include purchasing, sales and financial operations.
Using the Oracle E-Business Suite MIMS Group hopes to centralize and integrate
data for business intelligence with the aim of reducing purchasing time and
costs, increasing sales, data availability and accessibility and lowering order
processing time.
"We chose the Oracle E-Business Suite because it is the only complete
set of business applications that are integrated around one single data model,"
commented manager Sead Staljo at MIMS Group. "MIMS has a number of diverse
business processes and needs one repository of suppliers, employees and products.
Oracle's solution offers all-round functionality. We were also impressed by
Oracle's commitment and support on the ground in our local market."
Klas d.d. is a producer, wholesaler and distributor of over 350 food products
ranging from sweets and cakes to pasta and medical teas. The company has 1,300
employees based at its headquarters in Sarajevo, retail outlets throughout BiH
and warehouses in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar. Klas d.d. will use the Business
Intelligence, Order Management, Inventory Management, Purchasing, Financials
and Process Manufacturing with Manufacturing Scheduling modules of the E-Business
Suite. It intends to use the Oracle technology to help increase sales and exports,
reduce new product development time, decrease manufacturing costs and improve
customer satisfaction.
Alija Sabanovic, general manager at Klas d.d. said, "Oracle has a product
for each of our business processes and helps to introduce best practices into
our business. Oracle Process Manufacturing is a perfect fit for our manufacturing
needs. We wanted to be able to upgrade with minimal interruptions and changes
to our system and the Oracle E-Business Suite meets these needs."
Oracle partner, PING d.o.o Sarajevo will implement the technology for both
MIMS Group and Klas d.d.
ICMP is an inter-governmental organization that was created in 1996 following
the G-7 Summit in Lyon, France. Headquartered in Sarajevo, it is helping to
address the issue of persons missing from the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia
from 1991 to 1995. ICMP will use the Oracle E-Business Suite for Advance Purchasing.
This is a vital process for ICMP because it purchases expensive material for
complex analysis so an efficient system to minimize losses is vital. The organization
also relies on remote access by its staff out in the field for activities such
as DNA analysis and archive checking. The web enabled E-Business Suite facilitates
these activities.
Martin Woodcock, Vice President, Oracle South East Europe, and Managing Director,
Oracle Bosnia and Herzegovina said: "Oracle has had a presence in Bosnia
and Herzegovina for over 10 years. Signing contracts with MIMS Group, Klas d.d.
and ICMP underlines our commitment to this expanding market. Companies and organizations
are recognizing the opportunities technology has for cutting costs and increasing
efficiency. Oracle E-Business Suite is proving popular with customers looking
to centralize their data and introduce best business practices across their
organization."
