Oracle to Provide "Applications Unlimited" Continued Enhancements to Current Oracle Applications
Company Announces Plans to Develop Current Product Lines Beyond Delivery of Oracle Fusion Applications
NASHVILLE, Tenn., COLLABORATE ‘06   25-APR-2006 06:30 AM    Speaking to users at Collaborate '06, Oracle President Charles Phillips detailed the company's long-term plans to provide continued enhancements to current Oracle Applications beyond the delivery of Oracle Fusion Applications in 2008.

With "Applications Unlimited" Oracle has announced plans to enhance JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft and Siebel applications on an on-going basis. Additionally, with this new strategy, Oracle is providing more visibility into product roadmaps, and helping customers derive continual success from their current applications by delivering dedicated, world-class development and support for years to come.

"With today's announcement, we are giving customers the best of both worlds - more value from their existing applications, which we plan to enhance indefinitely, and an option to upgrade free-of-charge to future technologies, if customers have a business case to do so," said Oracle President Charles Phillips.

Phillips continued, "Oracle has 30,000 satisfied customers across JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft and Siebel Applications. These products represent the industry's strongest portfolio of business applications and they are uniquely tailored for virtually every industry and geography for both small and large companies. In the history of enterprise applications, no other company has amassed this breadth and depth of proven, packaged business processes and development talent.

The scale of our applications business allows us to keep investing in all these products, which in turn, allows us to address a wide range of customer requirements. Oracle Fusion Applications, being built completely on industry standards, will simply represent another addition to the Oracle Applications family."

Oracle plans to work closely with its customer advisory boards and user groups to help design new releases and functional enhancements to the current Oracle Application product families. As part of these enhancements, Oracle plans to deliver next-generation application capabilities to the current Oracle Applications, such as XML reporting and sophisticated, industry-specific analytics.

"These next-generation enhancements will to leverage the same industry standards and technologies that are planned for Oracle Fusion Applications, preserving customer investments," said Senior Vice President of Applications Development John Wookey. "There will be no forced migrations and customers can count on Oracle's unique Lifetime Support Policy for their existing applications."

To summarize, the "Applications Unlimited" program for PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel and Oracle applications delivers:

* Plans for Continued New Releases

* Customer-Driven Product Roadmaps

* Dedicated Development Teams

* No Forced Migrations
