Building on its comprehensive portfolio of
identity and access management offerings, Oracle today announced
availability of the Oracle(r) Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite. The
Suite is a component of Oracle Identity Management and helps simplify
and improve security by providing single sign-on, access control and
password management for virtually any application including Oracle's
Web and non Web-based software such as Oracle Database, Oracle Forms,
Oracle Discoverer, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle's PeopleSoft
Enterprise and Oracle's Siebel applications, as well as non-Oracle
applications.
Financial services, healthcare, government,
telecommunications and organizations across all industries with
extensive legacy applications and compliance requirements are
positioned to benefit from Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite's
ability to provide single sign-on for mainframe, client/server and
Web-based applications. With the Suite, organizations can provide
secure access to their enterprise resources without burdening users
with remembering and maintaining separate passwords and authentication
credentials for each system and application. This helps customers
strengthen security, improve the user experience and lower costs by
decreasing the risks and resources associated with multiple application
passwords.
"Over the past year, customers, partners and
industry analysts have lauded Oracle for its commitment to delivering a
comprehensive family of best-in-class identity and access management
software that can be used across heterogeneous IT environments," said
Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Security and Identity Management Products,
Oracle. "The availability of Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite
underscores this commitment and further enables customers to improve
security throughout their entire organizations and to more easily meet
compliance mandates while reducing costs."
Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite is
comprised of five components that improve authentication capabilities,
decrease security costs and deliver efficient access and self-service
capabilities, including:
* Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Logon
Manager - enables individuals to securely sign-on using a simple
username and password for their Web-based and legacy applications and
insulates end-users from the time-consuming, insecure, error-prone task
of periodically changing and updating their passwords;
* Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Password
Reset - provides the ability to set flexible, custom policies for users
to recover lost or forgotten desktop passwords through secure,
self-service interfaces in Windows environments, helping reduce
helpdesk costs and resources typically associated with password resets;
* Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On
Authentication Manager - allows organizations to use a combination of
tokens, smart cards, biometrics and passwords to control access to
their applications throughout the enterprise and meet regulatory
mandates such as HSPD-12, while laying a foundation for converging
physical and logical security;
* Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On
Provisioning Gateway - enables organizations to leverage their identity
administration software, such as Oracle Identity Manager, to
automatically provision application accounts that can subsequently be
accessed through Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Logon Manager; and
* Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Kiosk
Manager - allows individuals to access applications more quickly and
securely even at multi-user kiosks and workstations, where individual
users operate from multiple locations throughout the day.
Availability
The comprehensive Oracle Enterprise Single
Sign-On Suite is now available worldwide and is priced on a per user
basis. Due to strong demand for Windows desktop password reset
capabilities, customers have the option to use Oracle Enterprise Single
Sign-On Password Reset as part of the overall Suite or purchase it as a
standalone product.
