Oracle has been cited as a leader in eSourcing and spend analysis solutions by Forrester Research, a leading independent research firm. Oracle was one of only three companies that received leader status, ranking above other enterprise software suite vendors, in "The Forrester Wave: eSourcing Suites, Q4 2005" report. Oracle also achieved a perfect score in the globalization category.
The Forrester Wave report evaluated 12 vendors whose software included spend analysis, supplier identification and assessment and supplier selection capabilities. Forrester analyzed user needs and developed a set of 127 criteria. Data for the report was collected through vendor surveys and interviews with vendor customers.
This is the second time this year Oracle(r) Advanced Procurement has been recognized by Forrester as being a leader compared to other full-suite enterprise software solutions. In the Jan. 4, 2005 report titled "Forrester Wave: eProcurement Solutions" by Andrew Bartels, Oracle received leader status.
"CFOs are asking tougher questions and demanding evidence of sourcing's impact to the bottom line. Today's procurement organizations can't afford to choose between solutions that maximize 'savings' and a set of tools that can drive rigorous enforcement," said Meg Lloyd, Oracle Vice President Procurement Applications Development. "Oracle made a long-term commitment to invest in developing best-in-class sourcing applications with the understanding that the market would reward providers that can deliver both."
As companies seek to maintain or improve margins, they are turning to strategic sourcing, to improve price-performance across direct and in-direct materials. eSourcing tools are a set of applications and capabilities that help companies identify opportunities for cost savings in sourcing, from supplier identification, negotiation and selection.
Oracle Advanced Procurement is the integrated suite of applications that enables users to dramatically cut all supply management costs. With Oracle Advanced Procurement, customers can reduce spend on goods and services, streamline procurement processes and enforce policy compliance.
