Oracle today announced the general availability
of Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise On Demand and Oracle On Demand for Siebel CRM (Customer
Relationship Management). In addition to giving customers choice and flexibility, these new services
further expand the Oracle On Demand portfolio of industry-leading Software as a Service and Managed
Applications offerings. Oracle is the only software company to offer a complete range of On Demand
services across its software products; including subscription-based solutions, managed applications,
hosting, and software management services.
"These new offerings expand the Oracle On Demand portfolio and give customers both flexibility and
choice of deployment models, while helping assure Siebel and PeopleSoft users that Oracle will continue
to support their investments," said Sheryl Kingstone, director, Enterprise Applications and Mobility
Strategies, Yankee Group. "With Oracle managing their software, customers can focus on strategic IT or
business initiatives instead of the on-going maintenance and support of the applications."
"With these Oracle On Demand offerings, customers will benefit from the repeatable processes for
implementation, upgrades and operation that ultimately help speed deployment as well as provide
customers a comprehensive suite of management services to protect, extend and evolve the value of their
Siebel CRM and PeopleSoft Enterprise investments," said Marc Schwarz, senior vice president, Oracle
On Demand. This is the natural evolution of On Demand and Oracle is leading the charge."
The latest Oracle On Demand services deliver comprehensive enterprise functionality and deep industry
expertise while enabling customers to focus on results because Oracle experts maintain the responsibility
of deploying, managing, and updating the software. PeopleSoft Enterprise On Demand applications
deliver company-wide functions such as human resources, finance, IT, procurement, marketing, services
and sales across all industries. Oracle On Demand for Siebel CRM includes advanced order management
and analytics capabilities and provides deep vertical functionality, including comprehensive business
process support optimized for 23 industries. The new Siebel offering complements Oracle's Siebel CRM
On Demand offering and extends the benefits of On Demand to the entire Siebel customer base. The
expanded Oracle On Demand portfolio gives customers the widest choice available; including license,
subscription, managed applications, hosting solutions, as well as software management services.
"Oracle On Demand for Siebel CRM makes sense because it will allow us to leverage Oracle's industry
leading information management products and services while keeping our focus on managing our
business," said Steve Hallett, director, IT Strategy, Roll International. "Oracle's broad On Demand
offerings give us the flexibility we need to accommodate our evolving IT needs."
With the addition of Oracle On Demand for Siebel CRM and Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise On Demand,
Oracle continues to help improve the availability, performance, and security of IT environments, while
providing access to the latest software releases and upgrades.
