Oracle (Nasdaq GS: ORCL), the world's largest enterprise
software company, today announced the winners of its sixth Oracle PartnerNetwork
Innovation Award for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The award encourages
initiatives where Oracle's products and technology are applied in an innovative
way to create value for customers and win new business.
Italian partner GN Informatica Srl took top honours for its GNPlatformOne solution
which helps organisations tackle complex IT processes that make interaction
between users of different business applications difficult. The Oracle Database
10g, Oracle AppsServer 10g, Oracle XML Publisher and JDE Enterprise One-based
solution enables customers to deploy a complete set of predefined and easily
customisable reports and mobile business transactions across various applications.
"The Innovation Award is a valuable endorsement and an asset in helping
us to achieve further success for GN Informatica," said Gualtiero Biella,
chief executive officer, GN Informatica. "Oracle technology has allowed
us to create a solution that simplifies the use of business applications for
our customers and enables the rapid implementation of JDE Enterprise One. Our
product has been recognised by SMBs and has helped our customers achieve real
business value quickly."
In second place, UK partner Trampoline Systems was commended for its industry-leading
work in developing a tool to harness social behaviour within organisations for
effective information management. Using Oracle Database 10g, Trampoline Systems'
SONAR platform plugs into the corporate network and connects to existing systems
including email servers, contact databases and document repositories to make
expertise visible, deliver information to where it is needed and increase the
reuse and value of the organisation's knowledge assets.
Third prize was awarded to Italian partner, Insirio Spa, for its WhereDoc®application.
Built on Oracle Database 10g and utilising Oracle Sensor Edge Server to enable
interaction with RFID tools, the application identifies and traces paper documents
within a company's management archives. The product can be customised according
to a user's needs and integrates physical documents into an organisation's IT
environment.
"Innovation is held in the highest regard by Oracle and our partners also
recognize that this is one of the keys to maintaining a leadership position,"
said Vasu Briquez, Chair of the Oracle Innovation Board in Europe Middle East
and Africa. "The OPN Innovation Award is our way of rewarding the outstanding
initiatives our partner community is delivering."
Stein Surlien, Vice President, Alliances & Channels, Oracle Europe, Middle
East and Africa said: "We are committed, though the Oracle PartnerNetwork,
to providing our partners with the support, services and expertise that help
them create valuable solutions and enable their customers to achieve their business
goals. Winning an OPN Innovation Award enhances a partner's visibility within
the Oracle PartnerNetwork community and the wider market. We are proud to be
involved with these partners and wish them the greatest success for the future."
