Oracle (Nasdaq GS: ORCL), the world's largest enterprise
software company, today announced the launch of a multi-functional eTool that
will allow partners to engage directly with each other and work together on joint
business opportunities.
The Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Partner Networking Tool was presented to partners
at the company's flagship OPN Day event in Rhodes, Greece, this afternoon. The
programme will allow attendees of Oracle OPN Days in Europe, Middle East and
Africa (EMEA), to profile themselves on the Oracle PartnerNetwork Portal (http://partner.oracle.com).
The tool provides a search function for partners to find like-minded companies
operating in the same vertical industries or offering complementary software
solutions. Partners will also be able to set up virtual meetings or message
each other confidentially and in real-time using the networking service.
Increasing numbers of Oracle partners work in multiple markets across EMEA
and the tool will allow these partners to get together to deliver different
elements of Oracle's extensive technology, applications and middleware suite
to customers.
"Many of our partners have told us that they can benefit from sharing
ideas, solutions, services and best practices with other OPN members. This tool
will be a real enabler in allowing our partners to offer more comprehensive
solutions to customers by working together to cover different areas of the Oracle
technology stack," said Penny Philpot, Senior Director, Alliances &
Channels, Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Oracle projects that 2500 partners will make use of the tool in the coming
year and plans to enhance the system, in coming months, to provide greater functionality
and allow partners to create their own workspaces where they can post and share
files.
"Many of our partners are experiencing great demand from their customers
for end-to-end business solutions. This tool will allow them to find and work
with other Oracle partners who can offer complementary technology expertise
and allow partners to take advantage of more technology implementation opportunities,"
Ms Philpot added.
