Customers Across the Globe Continue to Rely on Oracle over SAP
Standards-Based Oracle Applications Drive Superior Ownership Experience
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.,   19-APR-2007 05:00 AM    Global organizations in a variety of industries continue to rely on Oracle versus SAP for the superior ownership experience achieved with standards-based Oracle Applications, Oracle today announced. Customers including, Fawaz Al Hokair Group, Guangzhou City Construction & Development Co. Ltd., JR286 Inc, KIK Custom Products, Macquarie Leisure Operations Ltd., Mando Suzhou Automotive Chassis System, Mexicana de Aviacion, MRS Logistics, MTU Detroit Diesel Australia, O2 Germany, Pescados Industrializados SA de CV, ScriptPro, the State of Tennessee, Stream Gas & Electric Ltd. (Stream Energy), Tsingtao Brewery Co. Ltd., Valle Redondo SA de CV, WILD and Zhejiang Energy Lan Xi Power Plant Co. Ltd. chose Oracle Applications instead of SAP to manage changing market demands while maintaining a low total cost of ownership.

Organizations of all sizes are benefiting from the integrated functionality and flexible architecture of Oracle Applications. On a global scale, companies are turning to Oracle to better manage daily business operations, achieve a rapid return on investment and stay ahead of the competition in their respective markets.

Mexicana de Aviacion
Mexicana de Aviacion is the leading provider of air transportation between Mexico and the United States, in Latin America. From its center of operations at the International Airport of Mexico City, Mexicana serves approximately 50 destinations in North America, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. Through agreements with leading international airlines, Mexicana passengers also benefit from a wide choice of connecting routes covering most of the world. Mexicana chose Oracle Applications over SAP in order to consolidate corporate data and disparate business processes into a centralized enterprise.

"One of the top challenges for a global enterprise like Mexicana is the integration of business solutions. Mexicana, the leading airline in Latin America, has hundreds of applications with no less number of hardware, software, services and consulting vendors to support them," said Mexicana de Aviacion Chief Information Officer, Santiago Ontanon. "The main competitive advantage of the Oracle solution was the high level of integration of the applications (ERP & MRO), strengthened by the seamless delivery and operation model. Oracle was the only company in the marketplace capable of integrating a serious and credible solution, further helping to guarantee levels of service and customer satisfaction to Mexicana. By choosing Oracle, Mexicana traded a complicated mesh of vendor relationships and responsibilities for a business partnership with a technology leader."

KIK Custom Products
KIK Custom Products is one of the largest custom manufacturers of both national brand and retailer brand consumer products, with over 4,000 employees, 19 manufacturing facilities and four distribution centers strategically located throughout North America. KIK produces brand name consumer products for a wide range of well known, leading international consumer products companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble and Unilever. KIK retailer branded products are produced for leading retailers including Albertsons, Kroger, Loblaws, Safeway, Target, Walgreens Wal-Mart and foodservice leader Sysco. KIK chose Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne over a similar offering from SAP, to integrate disparate ERP systems into one Order-to-Cash and Financial Reporting System.

"KIK decided to standardize on Oracle's JD Edwards platform across the business following a very successful implementation of JD Edwards World in our largest and most complex division," said KIK Custom Products Vice President of Information Systems, Sam Porcasi. "We evaluated other vendors, including SAP. We chose JD Edwards EnterpriseOne due to a projected lower overall cost-of-ownership and the ability to quickly establish a consolidation platform across our disparate legacy systems, which is tightly aligned with our business goal to achieve 'One Face to the Customer'."

WILD
WILD is Germany's largest private producer of natural ingredients for the food and beverage industry; WILD and its affiliated Companies employ 2,500 people and operate 17 production facilities in 12 countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia and have branches in more than 70 countries worldwide. In 1931, the company began producing alcohol-free beverages using purely natural ingredients. By the mid-1970s, WILD emerged as a market leader for the creation and widespread success of the unique fruit juice drink, Capri-Sun.

Completing WILD's competence in the food and beverage market is the company's production and sale of the Capri Sun, Caps, and Soy & Joy brands as well as the licensed beverage, Libella. Formerly an SAP customer since the release of SAP R/2, WILD recently announced plans to migrate to the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 to take operations across the enterprise to the next level of excellence. WILD thoroughly evaluated the functionality in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 before making the decision to migrate to Oracle.

"'Creating Great Taste' for food and beverage worldwide has always been the foundation of WILD's approach to providing customers with products of the highest quality and safety," said WILD Chairman and Owner, Dr. Hans-Peter Wild. "Oracle E-Business Suite has a much more modern and flexible architecture than competitive offerings from SAP; we are confident that our Oracle investment will deliver the financial benefits needed to maintain our market leadership and adhere to the unprecedented standard of quality we guarantee in our products."
