Oracle Helps ISVs and System Integrators to Build Secure Connectors to Oracle(r) Secure Enterprise Search 10g
New Partner Initiative Extends Secure Search to Critical Enterprise Resources
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.   05-FEB-2007 05:05 AM    Oracle today announced the Oracle Secure Search Initiative to expand the development of secure connectors to critical enterprise data source and applications. The program offers partners a comprehensive security framework for connectors built to deliver greater access to enterprise data sources and usability features to Oracle's standalone search engine.

Oracle today also introduced a broad range of secure connectors from partners currently engaged in the Oracle Secure Search Initiative. Available today these connectors enable Oracle(r) Secure Enterprise Search 10g's secure crawling of popular data sources such as BusinessObjects Universes, EMC Documentum Content Server DocBases, FileNet Content Engine object stores, IBM Lotus Notes databases, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Sharepoint, and Open Text's Livelink ECM, among others.

Partners Benefit from Oracle Secure Search Initiative
Through the Oracle Secure Search Initiative, Oracle and its partners develop a wide-ranging set of secure connectors to help reduce the complexity and cost of searching across various third-party data repositories. Oracle's secure connectors allow users to find relevant information that reside in disparate data sources and applications, launching a single query from a single interface within Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g, without the need for separately searching each individual application and repository.

Working closely with Oracle, partners can decrease costs associated with development efforts and reduce time-to-market for secure connectors. In addition to developing connectors for data sources, partners can also develop extensibility and usability connectors that deliver enhanced functionality such as categorization, entity extraction and visualization capabilities.

Partners participating in the Oracle Secure Search Initiative receive immediate access to Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g information and services such as APIs, documentation, guidelines, and training. The initiative supports multiple types of extensibility technologies including secure crawl, secure federation and secure suggested content.

Partners can view details and requirements for the Oracle Secure Search Initiative through the Oracle Technology Network portal at:
