Oracle Unveils Systems Management and Monitoring Offering for Oracle(R) Identity Management
New Oracle Enterprise Manager Pack Enables Customers to Centrally Monitor and Manage Identity Management Systems Across Heterogeneous Computing Environments
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.   07-FEB-2007 05:40 AM    Oracle today announced the Oracle(r) Management Pack for Identity Management, which provides a single, unified management solution for Oracle Identity Management customers. Extending the enterprise applications management capabilities of Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g, the new pack enables organizations to reduce the cost and complexity of managing identity and access management systems.

As identity management initiatives become increasingly mission-critical, organizations need a way to centralize the management and monitoring of their identity systems from the operating system through the application layer to the end-user. Oracle Management Pack for Identity Management is a comprehensive, integrated management solution that enables customers to improve service levels and improve agility through capacity on-demand. The pack for identity management also allows organizations to perform one-step discovery of identity management components in their environment, monitor system performance, conduct fault diagnosis and remediation, apply service levels to identity management services and automate configuration management through a single console.

Managing Identity and Access Management Across Diverse Environments
As a result of Oracle's commitment to support heterogeneous environments, Oracle Identity Management can be used with a wide range of third-party application servers, databases and operating systems. Similarly, Oracle Management Pack for Identity Management provides system administrators with a single console to manage their entire identity and systems management environment including Oracle and non-Oracle technologies. For example, a system administrator monitoring Oracle Identity Manager on BEA WebLogic and linking to Microsoft Active Directory can now manage and monitor these systems from a single console.

Available now, Oracle Management Pack for Identity Management includes a number of enhanced features for which the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g family of products is known. Key capabilities include:
* Discovery - one-step discovery and graphical display of Oracle Identity Management components, as well as non-Oracle applications running identity management servers;

* Monitoring - tracks metrics such as availability performance and overall health of identity management components, spanning failed and successful authentications, total service time, number of logins, requests processed and average self-service response time. These metrics can be rolled up for groups of servers, or drilled down to the underlying components to more rapidly diagnose and resolve potential problems;

* Service Level Management - service dashboard provides a single location to monitor the status of key components of an identity system with a real-time view of service status, availability, performance, usage and service level compliance; and,

* Configuration Management - enables customers to track changes made to identity management configuration; automatically collects configuration information on host hardware specifications, operating system parameters, product version and component information, patch sets and software configuration data daily.

"Oracle Identity Management Suite is a comprehensive and integrated family of identity and access management products that customers can plug into their existing IT environments," said Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Identity and Security Products, Oracle. "With the addition of Oracle Management Pack for Identity Management, Oracle now delivers to customers an unmatched solution for enabling increased enterprise-wide security, decreased systems management costs and improved business results through higher quality of service."
