Independent Research Firm Names Oracle as a Leader in Enterprise ETL with Oracle(r) Warehouse Builder 10g Release 2
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.   14-MAY-2007 05:05 AM    Oracle today announced its position as a "Leader" in "The Forrester Wave(tm): Enterprise ETL, Q2 2007."(1)

Oracle was named a leader based on the extract, transform and load (ETL) capabilities in Oracle(r) Warehouse Builder 10g, which was evaluated across 68 criteria spanning strategy and market presence. According to the vendor summary cited in the report, "Oracle has delivered a scalable, user-friendly, and feature rich ETL solution at a much more attractive price than the other Leaders: Free. Core Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g Release 2 functionality is bundled at no charge with the purchase of an Oracle Standard Edition One, Oracle Standard Edition, or Enterprise Edition database."

Data integration is becoming increasingly critical in organizations as users seeking to better optimize business performance and ensure better decision-making. Compliance, master data management and operational business intelligence (BI) are also key drivers behind organizations' use of ETL products. According to the report, the market is evolving from pure-play single product offerings to data integration suites. Oracle's ETL offerings, Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g and Oracle Data Integrator, meet the market need for heterogeneous connectivity and metadata management capabilities. Optimized for Oracle databases and data warehouses, Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g enables customers to transform data from different formats and disparate systems into information useful for business reporting and analytics. It provides a highly scalable, role-based ETL solution with best-in-class integrated information management capabilities enabling customers to build data warehouses and BI solutions, at an affordable price. With Oracle Data Integrator, a key component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, organizations can increase user productivity through its ability to promptly integrate massive volumes of data dispersed across mixed IT environments.

"Our customers are seeking a comprehensive solution to integrate data and convert that data into quality information at a low total cost of ownership," said Ray Roccaforte, vice president of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Platform, Oracle. "Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g delivers heterogeneous data access, strong data quality features and extreme scalability all within the Oracle Database."
