Oracle Demonstrates Enterprise 2.0 Leadership at Oracle OpenWorld® 2007
Company Showcases Comprehensive Spectrum of Enterprise 2.0 Capabilities Across Enterprise Applications, Middleware, Database and On Demand Solutions
Oracle OpenWorld, San Francisco
13-NOV-2007 05:00 AM
Oracle is the only company
able to deliver Enterprise 2.0 capabilities across an organization's
complete IT infrastructure using Oracle(r) Database, Oracle Fusion
Middleware and Oracle Applications, which can also be delivered via Oracle
On Demand.
*Oracle Database - delivers the scalability and performance Enterprise 2.0
applications require, stores Web 2.0 content in native XML format,
publishes structured and unstructured database content as real simple
syndication (RSS) feeds, supports PHP to facilitate database integration
with Enterprise 2.0 applications.
*Oracle Fusion Middleware - Oracle WebCenter, a component of Oracle Fusion
Middleware, provides a hot-pluggable and secure foundation for building
enterprise applications that include Web 2.0 capabilities. The combination
of Oracle WebCenter with Oracle Content Management also simplifies user
participation in the creation, publication, categorization, sharing and
search of unstructured content.
*Oracle Applications - Oracle Applications are marrying the concepts of
Web 2.0 with the security and reliability of traditional enterprise
applications. Oracle Applications are delivering Enterprise 2.0 in several
ways: leveraging Web 2.0 concepts in the development of net new
applications, enabling Web 2.0 to be embedded in Oracle's existing
applications, enabling Oracle's applications to be componentized and
consumed by Web 2.0 applications (for example exposing an Oracle sales
contacts gadget in an iGoogle page) and using tools like Google Gadgets
and Yahoo! Widget to build mini desktop applications that contain useful
enterprise data.
In addition to providing
valuable Enterprise 2.0 infrastructure and applications to its customers,
Oracle is using a broad range of Enterprise 2.0 software, including social
networks, wikis, blogs and mashups to improve its own business processes
and increase collaboration within the organization and with partners.
Oracle OpenWorld 2007
features several sessions focused on Enterprise 2.0 and gives attendees an
opportunity to explore the cutting edge of enterprise infrastructure and
applications.
