Oracle Announces Availability of New Security Product: Oracle(R) Adaptive Access Manager 10g
Oracle Rapidly Integrates Bharosa Software to Deliver New Oracle Identity Management Offering that Helps Organizations Combat Online Identity Theft and Fraud
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.   22-OCT-2007 05:15 AM    Oracle today announced general availability of Oracle(r) Adaptive Access Manager 10g, a new integrated offering within Oracle Identity Management and a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. A comprehensive solution designed to prevent online identity theft and fraud, Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g features a number of enhancements including: turnkey Knowledge-Based Authentication and system monitoring dashboard features, increased support for financial and retail compliance requirements, a hot-pluggable architecture and tight integration with Oracle Access Manager.

Driven by regulatory mandates such as FFIEC, PCI and HIPAA, organizations are increasingly under pressure to reduce fraud and provide higher levels of assurance of users' identity and their usage intent. Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g helps streamline compliance by providing organizations with comprehensive, integrated authentication and fraud solutions to simplify deployment and strengthen their security through multi-factor authentication and proactive, real-time fraud prevention. A pure Web-based security offering, Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g can be deployed in Oracle and non-Oracle environments and layered with an organization's existing authentication security architecture, such as hardware-based security tokens, smart cards and PKI authentication schemes.

Enhancements to Benefit More than 25 Million Oracle Adaptive Access Manager Users
Three months after acquiring Bharosa, Oracle successfully integrated the components of Oracle Adaptive Access Manager with the existing Oracle Identity Management products, improved the product's usability and expanded its support for Oracle and non-Oracle environments. The latest release of Oracle Adaptive Access Manager incorporates new features into the software's already extensive mutual authentication, strong multi-factor authentication, real-time fraud prevention and case tracking capabilities. Enhanced features include:

* Turnkey Knowledge-Based Authentication: enables organizations to automatically screen new account registrations using publicly available consumer data, simplifies implementation and improves usability through streamlined end user enrollment;

* Enhanced System Monitoring Dashboard: provides greater visibility into system performance and additional views of aggregate activity;

* Increased Financial and Retail Compliance: features enhanced support for compliance requirements including FFIEC and PCI data security standards;

* Hot-Pluggable Architecture: allows customers to more easily connect with Oracle and third-party solutions and data sources including Identity Management, Anti-Money Laundering, Single Sign-On, SSL VPN-based strong authentication systems and cross-channel out-of-band authentication systems such as IVR, SMS and email; and

* Tight Integration with Oracle Fusion Middleware: native support for Oracle Identity Management, including Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Application Server, provides richer validation of identity data and streamlined access and authentication for Oracle's enterprise applications.

"Oracle Adaptive Access Manager enables Oracle to provide organizations with next-generation risk-based access management capabilities and to augment existing heterogeneous security solutions to better protect against common and costly threats," said Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Identity Management and Security Products, Oracle. "The new features of Oracle Adaptive Access Manager coupled with its enhanced support for Oracle and third-party applications, further complement our portfolio of best-in-class identity and access management products and allow customers to streamline compliance requirements."

Industry Support for Oracle Adaptive Access Manager
Marking the first release of Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g, following Oracle's acquisition of Bharosa, industry analysts and Oracle partners are expressing their enthusiasm for the product.

"Many organizations are under the gun to implement an anti-fraud consumer authentication system, but really struggle with integrating this system with their existing identity management infrastructure," noted Mark Diodati, senior analyst with Burton Group's Identity and Privacy Strategies Service. "The tight coupling of anti-fraud and web access management systems provides a harmonized solution that can eliminate the 'two traffic cops' problem when managing access to private information and monetary transactions."

"Juniper Networks believes the integration of Bharosa's multi-factor authentication and fraud prevention features into the Oracle Identity Management portfolio will provide enterprises with a comprehensive, identity management and access framework to support their high-performance business security requirements," said Steven Wastie, vice president of enterprise marketing at Juniper Networks. "By delivering integration and interoperability between our market-leading Secure Access SSL VPN appliances and both Oracle's Bharosa and Oracle Identity Management solutions, the combined solution helps enable customers to reduce the cost and complexity of provisioning and securing remote and mobile users."

"Online identity theft and fraud is a growing security concern facing the financial services industry today," said John M. Young, vice president and chief technology officer, Mantas, a business of i-flex solutions. "The combination of Mantas' financial fraud offering and Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g's strong authentication and identity fraud capabilities provides organizations a robust solution designed to help organizations protect against growing security threats no matter where they may be perpetrated within their enterprise."

"Oracle Adaptive Access Manager 10g gives customers new strong authentication options when conducting business online," said Vatsal Sonecha, senior vice president, Business Development and Strategy, TriCipher Inc. "The combined advantages of Oracle fraud detection with TriCipher's PKI-based multi-factor authentication and digital document signing capabilities help ensure that the convenience cost and security requirements will be met for each new online process."

Juniper Networks, Mantas and TriCipher Inc. are all members of Oracle PartnerNetwork.
