Oracle today announced that Brasil Telecom, one of Brazil's leading wireless and fixed-line communications providers, has extended its use of Oracle(r) Communications Order and Service Management, Oracle Communications Inventory Management and Oracle Communications Service Activation - all part of the Oracle Service Fulfillment Suite - to help accelerate service delivery for wireless pre- and post-paid voice customers, as well as fixed-line data customers.
Oracle Communications' service fulfillment suite applications, selected over competing solutions, will help Brasil Telecom sustain its growth amidst Brazil's deregulated and ever-expanding communications market. By consolidating multiple provisioning systems onto a single, unified operational support system (OSS) that integrates order management, inventory management and service activation, Brasil Telecom expects to reduce capital and operating expenses, improve customer service and accelerate time to market for new services.
"In order to continue to meet the demand for next-generation mobile and IP services, we needed to streamline our provisioning processes to ensure rapid time to revenue and a seamless customer experience," said Sergio Costa, IT Manager, Brasil Telecom. "Our extension of Oracle will allow us to automate the entire provisioning process, reduce order fallout and maintain an accurate view of our network and service inventory. This, in turn, will enable us to increase capacity to process orders and reduce our capital expenditures as we transform our network to IP."
"As Brazil's communications market grows, there is vast opportunity for innovative providers to increase market share through convergent, next-generation services," said David Sharpley, vice president marketing and alliances, Oracle Communications. "Oracle's service fulfillment suite will provide Brasil Telecom with the tools to expand its customer base and continue to launch new services quickly."
Oracle Service Fulfillment Suite automates the order-to-activate provisioning cycle by integrating key service fulfillment processes, including back-office order orchestration, network and service inventory management, service activation and configuration management. It helps service providers:
* Streamline and maximize efficiencies in the overall service fulfillment cycle
* Simplify the costly and complex process of delivering bundled services over multiple technologies
* Accurately manage and track physical and logical network elements and services
* Address the business challenges associated with transitioning to next-generation mobile and IP-based networks
