Oracle(r) Database 11g Powers Businesses Worldwide
Businesses in Varied Industries Upgrade to Latest Release of Oracle Database to Improve Application Performance, Availability and Scalability
REDWOOD SHORES, Calig.   10-JUL-2008 05:00 AM
  • Organizations worldwide including NaviBank, Olam International, Servicio Electronico de Pago, S.A., and Xactly Corporation, among others, are in production with Oracle(r) Database 11g to run their key business applications, Oracle announced today.
  • Based in Vietnam, NaviBank has 60 branches and transactional offices nationwide and is aggressively growing its business through the expansion of its network of branches as well as the implementation of new banking technologies. In early 2008, NaviBank upgraded to Oracle Database 11g to power its core banking and card management application from independent software provider Serenco. In addition, NaviBank relies on Oracle Active Data Guard to optimize system resources used for disaster recovery by offloading reporting and data inquiry tasks from its transactional system.
  • Olam International in Singapore is a leading global supply chain manager of agricultural products and food ingredients, sourcing items from over 56 origin countries and delivering them to over 4,000 customers in 60 destination markets. To support its critical business reporting application, Olam upgraded to Oracle Database 11g from Oracle9i Database in January 2008. The upgrade to Oracle Database 11g on Windows 2003 has improved the performance of Olam's reporting system by 100 percent while allowing more concurrent users of the reporting system.
  • Servicio Electronico de Pago, S.A. (http://www.pagofacil.com.ar), better known as Pago Fácil, is the leading provider of electronic payment services in Argentina. Every month, more than eight million people drop by Pago Fácil's broad network of branches countrywide to pay for a variety of items and services provided by more than 2,000 companies spanning utilities, municipal taxes, colleges, auto insurance, and beyond. In March 2008, Pago Fácil deployed Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Real Application Clusters on two nodes of IBM servers running on Linux to power their Web payment system. Pago Fácil upgraded its database to Oracle Database 11g in order to offer a secure, highly flexible and scalable IT environment, increase productivity and achieve greater efficiency in data management.
  • Xactly Corporation is the leading provider in 100 percent on-demand Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sales performance management software, enabling sales and finance executives to optimize the effectiveness of sales and drive profitability. To deliver a highly available and reliable service, Xactly upgraded its platform to Oracle Database 11g in June 2008. In addition, the company deployed Oracle Active Data Guard to enhance Quality of Service by offloading resource-intensive activities from production databases to standby databases. Xactly is also in production with Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition Plus to offer its end users a comprehensive and scalable intelligence system that offers insight and analysis of key sales performance management metrics.
