• Using Oracle Document Capture, Forest County Potawatomi quickly and easily enters documents into its content management system. Now, instead of storing and managing thousands of paper files, content such as historical records, minutes from Executive Council sessions and personnel information is readily and securely available for authorized users through Oracle Universal Content Management.
• As a result of the Oracle deployment, members of Forest County Potawatomi's Executive Council have better access to a broad range of precedent-setting information, such as federal and state statutes, as well as governing documents from previous generations. With fast access to this contextual information, the council can make more-informed decisions that honor their ancestors' intentions and is better equipped to comply with legal requirements while creating opportunities for current and future members of the nation.
• Forest County Potawatomi has also integrated Oracle Imaging and Process Management with several third-party business applications to facilitate secure, automated and image-enabled business processes in multiple departments including Human Resources, Finance, and Health and Wellness. The result is a decrease in space required for storage, improved information sharing across departments and fewer resources expended on managing records and documents.
• Forest County Potawatomi plans to help other tribal groups gain the advantages of effective content management, and it worked closely with Tallgrass Technologies to tailor its implementation to make the process easily repeatable for smaller or less fortunate tribes.
