Leading Analyst estimates 30-35% adoption in next 12 months
Early adopters of Oracle Database 11g are reporting massive productivity gains in their application testing programs,
say industry analysts at OVUM. After reviewing the technology and speaking to customers, OVUM released the report,
"Oracle 11g whiz". Key findings:
- "The Real Application Testing capabilities in Oracle Database 11g are likely to disrupt the existing
testing tools market. On a basic productivity level it will allow complex load testing activities that would previously
have taken many weeks to be reduced to days...our initial estimate is that Oracle Database 11g can help improve
database administrator productivity by 200-300%"
- "Improvement in productivity will only intensify the competition in the database market, especially enabling Oracle to address the competition from Microsoft SQL Server in the SMB and small enterprise market."
- "Based on Ovum's initial customer interviews we predict that 30-35% of Oracle database customers will work with 11g in either production or development in the next 12 months. This would make the rate of adoption for 11g as rapid as any previous version of Oracle database technology."
