SAP Left Behind—Again
Oracle's applications grow by 63% compared to SAP's 14%
In the latest quarter, Oracle's applications growth once again outshined that of SAP. Oracle's CRM, ERP, and industry applications business grew by 63%, compared to SAP's 14%.
Oracle's applications new license sales grew 63% compared to SAP's new license sales growth rate of 15% in their most recently completed quarter. "We like our growth strategy of expanding beyond ERP into high-end, industry-specific vertical software in contrast to SAP's strategy of moving down market to sell ERP systems to small companies," said Oracle President, Charles Phillips.
Oracle's strategy of expansion has led to gains throughout the company; Oracle's second-quarter GAAP earnings per share were up 36% to 25 cents.
