BALLERUP, 08-FEB-2008 TIA Technology A/S, provider of one the most comprehensive and integrated software solutions tailor-made for the global insurance industry, has announced a strategic initiative with Oracle to base TIA’s next generation of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) applications on Oracle’s Fusion Middleware platform.
With the new SOA based architecture, TIA will release an application that can be implemented within heterogeneous application architectures. TIA’s functionality will be made available through a new User Interface (UI) and accessible through services in defined components allowing insurers to implement function-oriented modules of TIA such as Claims and Policy.
TIA Technology delivers a solution that enables significant advantages for insurance companies providing a complete package with all modules necessary to conduct efficient and customer oriented insurance processing, including managing the complete policy cycle as well as claims handling. TIA Technology has strong industry know-how evidenced by its wide international user base covering more than 40 insurance companies across 23 countries.
“TIA Technology has chosen to base the next generation of our industry leading insurance applications on Oracle Fusion Middleware, as this is clearly according to our strategy of being closely aligned with Oracle. The choice we have made around the SOA infrastructure will establish TIA as an open application enabling our customers to access TIA through a well defined service based interface layer using their own front ends on various technologies” says Morten B. Steiner, CEO, TIA Technology.
“Oracle Fusion Middleware continues to solve customers’ most critical business challenges. We are extremely pleased that TIA as a strong ISV player in the insurance industry has endorsed the capabilities of Oracle Fusion Middleware, and together we will present a very strong offering to global, regional and local insurance companies” said Stein Surlien, Vice President, Alliances & Channels, Oracle EMEA.
Through this initiative, TIA Technology and Oracle have identified specific customer cases where the two companies will cooperate. Furthermore, Oracle will support TIA’s strategic decision with technical assistance, sales and marketing support.
The ability to quickly market new and differentiated products to various customer groups is crucial for the insurance industry. The increased flexibility that will follow TIA Technology’s decision is warmly welcomed by existing customers.
”We are living in times where rapid change is the name of the game in our industry and where the ability to deliver new products fast is the key to success. This decision by TIA Technology will improve their customer’s ability to implement flexible business processes and multichannel interfaces and front-ends,” says Lars Lysdal Jensen, CIO, Alm. Brand and chairman of TIA Technology’s global user group.
Harry Stehrenberger, Oracle, VP Application Sales comments “I’m delighted about the cooperation with TIA as this will strengthen the strong existing partnership built over many years. The new TIA SOA version will be a key part of Oracle’s offering to the global insurance market as it complements the existing Oracle application suite perfectly. Furthermore, this will enable TIA to strengthen its market leading position as global standard for the insurance industry.”
