Green is Go: Oracle Achieves ISO 14001 Certification in EMEA
Oracle has enjoyed a long term commitment to operating its business and facilities in ways that minimise environmental impact. But now Oracle's European and South African operations have been officially recognised with the ISO 14001 environmental standard certificate in 14 countries. Environmental best practices have been implemented by Oracle through a combination of green-minded business practices and employee involvement. These have included:
- an ongoing Global Environment Forum to implement environmental best practices throughout the company's facilities;
- membership of the Climate Savers computing initiative;
- voluntary participation in the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Leaders Program;
- the provision of environmental awareness training for all Oracle employees;
- and fundamental changes in more routine areas of the business such as procurement, product delivery, recycling, transportation, and sustainable frugal utility usage.
