Oracle presents Innovation Awards to partners and helps winners to grow their business

The Lisbon Agenda has identified innovation as one of the driving forces that will help the European economy to grow and remain competitive as it moves further into the post-industrial era. Oracle is supporting the Lisbon Agenda by fostering, recognizing and rewarding innovation among its European partner base.

As a world leader and continuous innovator in the technological field, Oracle has a profound and long-term commitment to developing, commercializing and applying new software technologies. The company not only encourages and rewards innovation inside its own walls, but also within its global network of 17,700 business partners, who together represent a huge economy around Oracle’s products and services.

The focus on innovation is particularly pronounced in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. It was in order to encourage, recognize and reward innovation in its own EMEA community that the Oracle Innovation Network was established in 2001.

In 2004 the focus was extended to members of the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), in the form of a semi-annual Innovation Award for partners who have developed an innovative product or service that complements Oracle’s own. Not content with simply presenting a trophy, Oracle also helps the award winners to develop their innovation and to grow their business around it. The OPN Innovation Award includes funds to support advertising and market development, and focuses the attention of the Oracle sales force, who often go on to recommend the partner’s innovation to suitable customers.
