1st Prize - (Italy)

Confor Srl

Televet

Confor Srl claimed first place for its Oracle Application Server 10g and Oracle Database 10g-based Televet solution, a groundbreaking telecontrol system used to monitor the wellbeing of poultry and livestock to ensure compliance with European Union regulations. The system enables remote monitoring of farm warehouses and provides actionable intelligence on optimal conditions for raising livestock, thus increasing animal wellbeing.

Enrico Reggiani, CEO of Confor Srl, said, "Televet provides a solution to an industry that is increasingly calling for improvements in environmental, human health and animal welfare controls. 2nd Prize - (UK)

3i Infotech

Insurance Centre of Excellence Platform

The second place award went to UK partner 3i Infotech for the creation of an Insurance Centre of Excellence in conjunction with a UK insurance industry customer. Based on Oracle Database 10g and Oracle SOA Suite, the Insurance Centre of Excellence Platform integrates a number of 3i Infotech and Oracle components to give insurance providers deeper insight into their businesses and their customers.

3rd Prize - (Italy)

Sait

Anti-Counterfeiting and Traceability

Italian partner Sait achieved third place for its Anti-Counterfeiting and Traceability solution, which enables the traceability of food products through warehouse monitoring, improved logistics efficiency, integration with accounting systems and anti-counterfeiting capabilities. The solution uses Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Application Server 10g.

1st Prize - (Italy)

Software Design

AOS Nice-Resource Brain

Software Design is an Italian company founded in 1988 with the aim of delivering innovative and reassuring solutions in the Information Technology industry through highly skilled technicians and managers using the most advanced information technologies. The company's history has been marked by a series of milestones, and Software Design now operates with experience in many markets especially in developing customized ICT products for airports. BAA – the world's leading airport company – has supported the company in creating an operative area specialized in airport management and related non-aeronautical business. Software Design was is the ICT partner of Naples International Airport management company and has developed the web infrastructure for itsthe new airport portal.

2nd Prize - (UK)

Zogix

Employee Services Platform (ESP)

In second place, UK partner Zogix was awarded for its Employee Services Platform (ESP); an open standard based application for delivering on demand corporate policy compliant travel and entertainment services. The application can help reduce a company’s expense spending and carbon emissions through the combined use of policy compliance, real time employee collaboration and employee incentive features. Using Oracle SOA, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Identity Management and Oracle E-Business Suite, the Zogix ESP enables change in user behavior when booking travel and entertainment services and rewards employees who find ways to reduce their carbon emissions and make savings for the organization. The Zogix ESP complements an enterprise’s existing IT infrastructure and ERP applications by introducing web 2.0 tools and business processes.

3rd Prize - (Germany)

Locanis

G-TRACK

Third prize was awarded to German partner Locanis for its G-TRACK warehouse management solution. Making use of Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition or Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition and Oracle SQL Developer, G-TRACK uses software and hardware components to recognize the exact position of transport vehicles, such as forklifts, and pinpoint the position of individual goods in large warehouse environments. The solution represents a key element in the total supply chain, delivering process automation, extremely accurate batch tracking and reducing loading errors by up to 98 percent.

1st Prize - (Italy)

GN Informatica

GNPlatformOne

Italian partner GN Informatica Srl took top honors for its GNPlatformOne solution which helps organizations tackle complex IT processes that make interaction between users of different business applications difficult. The Oracle Database 10 g, Oracle AppsServer 10 g, Oracle XML Publisher and JDE Enterprise One-based solution enables customers to deploy a complete set of predefined and easily customizable reports and mobile business transactions across various applications.

"The Innovation Award is a valuable endorsement and an asset in helping us to achieve further success for GN Informatica", said Gualtiero Biella, chief executive officer, GN Informatica. "Oracle technology has allowed us to create a solution that simplifies the use of business applications for our customers and enables the rapid implementation of JDE Enterprise One. Trampoline Systems

In second place, UK partner Trampoline Systems was commended for its industry-leading work in developing a tool to harness social behavior within organizations for effective information management. Using Oracle Database 10 g, Trampoline Systems' SONAR platform plugs into the corporate network and connects to existing systems including email servers, contact databases and document repositories to make expertise visible, deliver information to where it is needed and increase the reuse and value of the organization’s knowledge assets.

3rd Prize - (Italy)

Insirio

WhereDoc®

Third prize was awarded to Italian partner, Insirio Spa, for its WhereDoc ® application. Built on Oracle Database 10 g and utilizing Oracle Sensor Edge Server to enable interaction with RFID tools, the application identifies and traces paper documents within a company's management archives. The product can be customized according to a user's needs and integrates physical documents into an organization's IT environment.

5th OPN Innovation Awards - November 2006

1st Prize - (UK)

Toumaz Technology Limited

ECG Sensium™

Toumaz was awarded the prestigious First Prize for its ECG Sensium ™ solution. ECG Sensium provides connectivity for the last meter in an end-to-end system allowing health status data such as ECG, temperature and other vital signs, collected by remote monitoring systems to be seamlessly integrated with the Oracle professional health database.

The ECG Sensium embedded in a body worn digital plaster, filters, amplifies and samples a single lead ECG signal and temperature and transmits this over an ultra low power proprietary wireless link to a PDA. A sophisticated arrhythmia detection algorithm transforms the data into value added information which is then passed to an Oracle Database Lite 10 g server for further processing and filtering based on a set of rules. The information is then synchronized with the central database, allowing the health status information to be automatically integrated with electronic patient records.

Can Factory

Infrastructure and Donation Application

Can Factory built a scalable, high-performance e-commerce platform capable of live-authorizing hundreds of thousands of transactions arriving through the Internet, digital satellite TV and call centers. The system isolates payments from loss of database access or connectivity issues with the banks’ systems to ensure a seamless donation experience for the end user.

During Red Nose Day 2005, the solution processed up to 400,000 hits per minute for an amount of 8 million £ (11,8 million €), up 85% compared to 2003.

Can Factory’s Infrastructure and Donation Application has been used many times to support high-profile TV fundraising initiatives for charitable organizations. Example events supported: Red Nose Day 2005, Live8, Sport Relief 2006 / Comic Relief 2007.

3rd Prize - (Italy)

Technology Reply Srl

Leonardo

Technology Reply’s Leonardo application was developed for the Carabinieri Department of Cultural Heritage Supervision to support criminal investigations into stolen artworks and to safeguard works of art from damage and theft.

Leonardo uses emerging technologies to allow the Army Corp (Carabinieri responsible for protection of cultural heritage) to search and analyze a centralized database of text-based, location and visual information that has been gathered over more than twenty years. Leonardo has a multi-lingual interface and offers advanced functions such as document management, geographical and visual search and analysis, and integration with a market-leading product for investigative analysis.

1st Prize - (UK)

Business & Decision

Business & Decision

UK-based Business & Decision (previously Mi-Services), scooped first prize, for its Compliant E-Records Solution for Life Sciences initiative. The company developed an Electronic Records solution framework compliant with international E-Records and Signatures regulations and guidelines for use in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biotechnology.

The solution leverages the Oracle E-Records framework and supports Oracle to extend it to more modules and transactions within the E-Business Suite, as well as providing the E-Records framework to other applications via the Fusion integration project.

2nd Prize - (Germany)

Fujitsu-Siemens

Fujitsu-Siemens

In second place, Fujitsu-Siemens was commended for FlexFrame for Oracle, an adaptive infrastructure solution that enables data centers to consolidate their server landscapes and allows simplified access to on-demand application and database services.

FlexFrame for Oracle guarantees on-demand availability and performance in a modern, dynamic data centre.

3rd Prize - (Italy)

Motion International

Motion International

Third prize was awarded to Italian partner Motion International (previously Equilybra) for its Equilybra eBusiness Suite Accelerators initiative, a preconfigured eBusiness Suite (EBS) based on the Oracle EBS Special Edition.

Equilybra eBusiness Suite Accelerators reduce the standard implementation time and cost by 70%, offering the full potential of Oracle EBS at a cost suitably appealing for customers in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) market. There are currently three Accelerators available which cover Discrete Manufacturing, Process Manufacturing and Project Accounting for the services/engineering industry.
