ORACLE GEARS UP FOR STRONGER CUSTOMER SUPPORT IN CHINA

Company to Focus on Key Regions and Industries in FY2004

Hong Kong, June 9, 2003 – Oracle Systems Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation, the world's largest enterprise software company, announced today its newly aligned organizational structure for China. The company will increase its focus on key regions and core industries in order to provide stronger support to enterprise customers in the market.

Under its new business model, effective from its 2004 fiscal year starting June 1, 2003, Oracle China is divided into three regions. The North China region covers Beijing while the East and West China region includes the high-growth hub of Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta and the vast Western region, focus of increasing investment activity by the Chinese government as well as domestic and international businesses. South China and Hong Kong covers the highly- developed Pearl River Delta region.

Oracle has had offices in each of these regions for over ten years, and the enhanced regional focus highlights its commitment to expand and reinforce its existing presence in China, deepen local customer relationships and service significant new business opportunities in these key regions.

Each region will be run by Oracle veterans who include Andrew Hu, currently managing director for Oracle China, who will be the head of the North China region. David Lee will head the East & West China region. Lee will also maintain his current role as managing director of Oracle Taiwan until a suitable candidate is identified. Arics Poon, currently managing director of Oracle Hong Kong, will head the South China and Hong Kong region.

“Each of these senior executives brings a wealth of international and domestic experience which, combined with that of their local colleagues, will give Oracle an unparalleled ability to provide IT value to the customers in their regions,” said Loke Soon Choo, regional managing director, Oracle Greater China.

Parallel to its new regional organization, Oracle will also increase its focus on key vertical markets in response to the market demands in China. The target markets include: government; telecommunications, financial services and manufacturing. Oracle will leverage its teams of highly experienced professionals within China and elsewhere to support customers in these sectors.

“China is one of the highest growth markets in the world. Oracle is more committed than ever to China and the ongoing refinement of our business model reflects our desire to better serve our customers in this market and contribute to the economic development of China,” said Loke. “Oracle will continue to strengthen its organization by investing significantly in people, products, services and business partners to better address the increasingly sophisticated needs of our customers in China.”

He added that this new structure will not only provide Oracle China with maximum flexibility to focus on the regions and industries in which its customers conduct their business, it will also improve customer service and increase the efficiency of the organization, thereby enhancing its leading position in China.
