Oracle Makes it Even Easier to Own Industry’s Fastest,
Most Reliable and Cost-Effective Database Software

Small and Medium-Sized Businesses to Benefit from
New Two-Processor, Full-Featured Clustered Database

Hong Kong, February 6, 2004 - Oracle announced new pricing for Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition One. The price for Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition One has been lowered to $4,995 per processor and the maximum server capacity has been extended to 2-processors. Standard Edition One also is available with Named User Plus licensing at $149 per user with a minimum of five users. With this announcement, SMB customers can now get the world’s fastest, most reliable database at much lower costs.

In addition, for those customers looking to build highly available and scalable information technology systems, Oracle's database clusters will now, for the first time, be offered for free to those who purchase Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition. For these customers, the maximum server capacity is 4-Processors in a cluster. Customers can start small and grow their business using Oracle Real Application Clusters 10g as their business priorities change. Using Oracle’s database clusters, customers can benefit from the highest levels of availability and reliability at lower costs than competing databases.

“Oracle understands that all customers, regardless of size, want a secure and reliable IT infrastructure on which to build and maintain their businesses,” said Jacqueline Woods, Oracle vice president of Global Practices, Global Pricing and Licensing Strategy. “Today’s announcement underscores Oracle’s commitment to providing smaller organizations and our partner community with a world-class database at affordable prices. Making our entry-level pricing the same as Microsoft’s shows that we’re serious about competing head on with SQL Server.”

For all technology products, Oracle offers both per Processor and per Named User Plus licensing models. For more information on Oracle Pricing and Licensing, please visit: www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing.
