Oracle China Names
Managing Director for North China Region
Hong Kong, July 15, 2004 - Oracle China
(registered as the Beijing Oracle Software Systems Co., Ltd.), today announced
that Roger Li, currently the general manager of communications industry
at Oracle Greater China, has also assumed the position of the managing
director of Oracle North China.
Li's appointment demonstrates Oracle China's continuing
efforts to enhance customer service, provide value and satisfy the requirements
of its customers in the key regions of North China; the Yangtze River
Delta in East China; West China and the Pearl River Delta in South China.
"Roger Li brings years of working experience in China
as well as leadership capabilities, both internationally and locally.
His strong industry background also enables him to understand customer
needs in industries, which is one of Oracle's business priorities in China,"
said Loke Soon Choo, regional managing director, Oracle Greater China.
Based in Beijing, Li oversees the company's operations
in North China, including support for the industry teams and key business
units. In addition to his regional management role, Li is also responsible
for leading the communications industry group and for the overall development
of Oracle's business in the communications sector in the Greater China
region.
Li has more than 18 years' experience in the IT and
telecommunications industry in China, Asia Pacific and North America,
including more than 10 years in China. Prior to Oracle, he was the head
of the telecommunications division at Compaq China. Before that, Li managed
the enterprise networks unit at Lucent Technologies, Greater China.

With dual responsibility for North China and the communications business
for Greater China, I will have more opportunity to engage with customers
and provide service not only within the communications industry, but also
other industries.The strong support will benefit both our customers and
our business across all industries within the North China region," said
Li.
Li's appointment is consistent with the dual roles assumed
by the regional heads in Oracle China. David Lee, managing director of
Oracle East China and West China, also heads the General Business team,
one of Oracle's seven core industries sales teams in China. Arics Poon,
managing director of Oracle South China and Hong Kong SAR, also leads
cross-industry functions which include product teams for Oracle Application
Server, Oracle iLearning and Oracle Collaboration Suite.
