Your arrival and departure


There are two ways to travel from the airport to the hotel.

By taxi
One possibility is to take a taxi to the hotel. This will cost approx. €20,00. It will take about 20 minutes in regular traffic and 30-45 minutes in heavy traffic.

By train
You can also take the train to Malaga. This will cost approx. €2,00. It will take about 10-15 minutes to travel by train to the hotel.

At the airport there are multiple signs with "Train to Malaga". You should take the line “Cercanias”. The train will bring you to the city center of Malaga. You will have to get out at the last stop named “Maria Zambrano”, which is close to the hotel. When you leave the station you turn right. At the end of this avenue (Promenade) you will take a left. Then you will see the hotel on your left hand side.

Currency


The currency in Spain is the Euro ( € , EUR), which is used in almost all countries within the European Union.


Climate in Spain


Malaga's location ensures a Mediterranean type of climate with a pleasant weather. The mountains and the sandy, warm Mediterranean coastline call in for a mild weather throughout the year. The city experiences fairly hot summers and cool, dry winters. Summer temperatures tend to be higher with cooler evenings.

The climate is mild, the mean annual temperature being about 19 °C (66 °F).


Electricity


The electrical current is 220 volts, 50Hz. Two-pin round European-style plugs are used.


Time


Local time is GMT +1 (GMT +2 from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October).


Communications


The international access code for Spain is +34. The outgoing code is 00 followed by the relevant country code (e.g. 0044 for the United Kingdom). City codes are also required. Three local mobile phone operators have Spain well covered with GSM 900 and 1800 networks.


Health


There are no health risks associated with travel to Spain and no inoculations are required. The tap water in Spain is unfit for drinking. The standard of health care in Spain is very high, but the necessary health insurance provisions must be made before travelling. A reciprocal agreement exists with other EU countries, which entitles nationals to free emergency medical treatment. A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is necessary for this purpose.


Safety


Travel in Spain is fairly safe. Travelers should however always exercise caution in empty streets at night and be aware of pickpockets, particularly in the busses and the subway.

Madrid is the nominal capital of Spain. It is also the country's largest city, with a population of more than 3,000,000.
