Centralise

MiFID Solution Overview
The advent of MiFID places legal
obligations on Fund Managers to take into account
the full costs of settlement. Currently this costs
is hidden for many firms, as the true costs are
unknown due to non-automation of SSI retrieval,
maintenance, and enrichment on the allocations.
Commissioner McCreevy recently underlined the
importance of fully automating the settlement
cycle, first in a speech to Institute for European
Affairs, on 30 June in Dublin stated that '...
what matters is.. that cross border clearing and
settlement costs are significantly reduced' and
then again at the Economic and Monetary Affairs
Committee of the European Parliament on 11 July
where he said that he wants the industry to commit
to meeting certain targets, including that '...by
30 December 2007, there will be separate accounting
of the main clearing and settlement activities'.
