Judson Althoff

Judson Althoff is senior vice president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels and Embedded Sales at Oracle Corporation. He has worked for Oracle for more than 12 years, both in Chicago and at Oracle's corporate headquarters in Redwood Shores, California. Althoff is responsible for the ongoing development and execution of Oracle's Alliances and Channels programs and strategies, partner revenue-generating business initiatives, Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) and the OPN Specialized program, and the models for managing all of Oracle's more than 21,000 partners. He also manages Oracle ISV/OEM and Java sales globally.

Althoff was named a Top Channel Leader or Executive by CRN magazine from 2008 to 2011, and was also a CRN magazine Channel Chief from 2009 to 2011. Prior to his current role at Oracle, he was responsible for marketing, sales, and technical relationships with Oracle's strategic platform and distribution partners, and served as head of Oracle's Technology Channel Program Office. In this position, he developed technology and applications initiatives and go-to-market programs with Oracle's top partners, targeting midsize businesses. These programs have become some of the fastest-growing business units within Oracle.

Before joining Oracle, Althoff was an area business development manager and district sales manager for EMC Corporation. In this capacity, he was responsible for a team of direct and indirect sales staff in a five-state region in the midwestern United States.

Althoff holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Nandini

Nandini Ramani, Vice President of Engineering, Java Client and Mobile Platforms, Oracle Read Full Bio

Nandini Ramani is vice president of engineering, Java client, and mobile platforms at Oracle. Her current focus includes driving JavaFX and the client platform and tools for Java, JavaME, and Java Card.

Ramani has a long history of creating innovation and futures at Sun Microsystems. She has been actively involved in JavaFX since its inception in 2007, and launched the platform and tools.

Prior to joining the client group, Ramani worked in the Office of the Software CTO, driving the emerging technologies group for incubation projects. Having worked in the hardware architecture and simulation team in the Accelerated Graphics group as well as the graphics and media team for JavaME, her background includes both hardware and software. Ramani was involved in the development of XML standards as co-chair of the W3C Scalable Vector Graphics working group, and as a member of the W3C Compound Document Formats working group. She was also a member of several graphics- and UI-related expert groups in the Java Community Process.

Georges

Georges Saab, Vice President of Development, Oracle Read Full Bio

Georges Saab is the chairperson of the OpenJDK governing board, and vice president of development for the Java Platform group at Oracle, which defines and implements the Java language, library, and the Java Virtual Machine.

Saab is a more than 20-year veteran of programming language and platform development. His work with the Java Platform began as a developer of Java Standard Edition at JavaSoft and Sun Microsystems, where he was a founder of the Swing group and Java Webstart, and continued as he ran development of the JRockit JVM for many years at BEA Systems.

Henrik

Henrik Stahl, Senior Director, Product Management, Oracle Read Full Bio

Henrik Stahl is a senior director of product management at Oracle, and oversees planning and strategy for the Java Platform. He is tasked with moving Java forward in a way that benefits the overall Java community as well as Oracle and its customers and partners.

Stahl joined Oracle as part of the BEA acquisition. At BEA he had responsibility for the JRockit family of products. Overall he has almost 10 years of working with JVM and Java strategy and development. Prior to BEA, Stahl was co-founder and CTO of Swedish consultancy Omegapoint AB, the lead developer of the Swedish BankID service for issuing digital IDs to Swedish citizens. His experience also includes IT security, system architecture and development, network engineering, and support.

Stahl holds an MS in engineering physics from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. He lives with his family in California and spends his spare time doing random sports, gardening, and playing flamenco guitar.

Simon Ritter

Simon Ritter is a Java technology evangelist at Oracle. Ritter has been in the IT business since 1984 and holds a BS in physics from Brunel University in the U.K.

Originally working in the area of UNIX development for AT&T UNIX System Labs and then Novell, Ritter moved to Sun in 1996. At this time he started working with Java technology and has spent time working both in Java technology development and consultancy. Having moved to Oracle as part of the Sun acquisition, he now focuses on the core Java platform and Java for client applications. Ritter also continues to develop demonstrations that push the boundaries of Java for applications like gestural interfaces.

Terrence Barr

Terrence Barr, Senior Technologist, Oracle Read Full Bio

Terrence Barr is a senior technologist for mobile and embedded technologies at Oracle. Barr has broad development and architectural experience on embedded systems and platforms including industrial control systems, multiprocessor architectures, implementation and optimization of virtual machines, byte code hardware acceleration, advanced client-side and mobile applications, scalable client-server architectures, and more.

Barr is currently driving key aspects of the embedded Java strategy and product roadmap with Java ME embedded. He regularly participates in industry organizations and standards bodies, has authored or co-authored a number of papers in the U.S. and Europe, and speaks frequently at events around the world.

Arun Gupta

Arun Gupta is a Java evangelist working at Oracle. Gupta has over 15 years of experience in the software industry working on the Java Platform and several Web-related technologies. In his current role, he works to create and foster the community around Java EE, GlassFish, and WebLogic. Gupta has been with the Java EE team since its inception and contributed to all releases. He has extensive worldwide speaking experience on a myriad of topics and loves to engage with the community, customers, partners, and Java User Groups everywhere to spread the goodness of Java.

Fabiane Nardon is a computer scientist who is passionate about creating software that will positively change the world we live in. She was the architect of the Brazilian Healthcare Information System, considered the largest Java EE application in the world, and winner of the 2005 Duke's Choice Award. Nardon leads several communities, including the Java Tools community at java.net, where 800+ open source projects were born. She is a frequent speaker at conferences in Brazil and abroad, including JavaOne, OSCON, Jfokus, JustJava, and more. She’s also the author of several technical articles, and a program committee member of conferences including JavaOne, OSCON, and TDC. Nardon was chosen by Sun Microsystems to be a Java Champion in recognition of her contribution to the Java ecosystem. Currently, she works as a tools expert at ToolsCloud and in companies she co-founded, where she is helping to shape new disruptive internet-based services.

Yara Senger is currently president of SouJava (http://www.soujava.com.br), and has been working to spread Java knowledge, attract, and motivate new members to participate. As a speaker she has presented at JavaOne, Devoxx, and JFokus, plus several other conferences in Brazil. Senger is the main organizer of The Developer's Conference (TDC), which was begun with SouJava and Oracle for the JDK 7 launch in 2007

Passionate about writing and interviewing people, Senger has written more than 20 articles for Brazilian Java Magazine. She has been a member of the press at JavaOne several times, and currently is editor at InfoQ Brasil. Senger also gives, edits, and publishes video interviews on Globalcoders blog and also on the Eletron Livre blog. She is founder of Globalcode, the largest Java training company in Latin America, with current locations in 13 cities.

Senger graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo in 2001. Immediately after graduation she joined SouJava and started to work with Java at Accenture. She has certifications in Java Associate, Programmer, and Web. Senger is one of the authors of the ScrumToys open source project, which is distributed with NetBeans.

Bruno Souza

Bruno Souza is a Java developer and open source evangelist at Summa Technologies, and a cloud expert at ToolsCloud. Nurturing developer communities is a personal passion; Souza works actively with Java, NetBeans, Open Solaris, OFBiz, and many other open source communities. As founder and coordinator of SouJava (The Java Users Society)—one of the world’s largest Java user groups (JUGs)—he led the expansion of the Java movement in Brazil. Founder of the worldwide Java user groups community, Souza has helped create and organize hundreds of JUGs worldwide. A Java developer since the early days, he has participated in some of the largest Java projects in Brazil. Souza is also honorary director of the Open Source Initiative (OSI), president of the innovation-focused Campus Party Institute, and coordinator of Nuvem, the Cloud Computing Lab of LSI/USP. When not in front of a computer, Souza enjoys time with his family in a little hideout near São Paulo. An amateur in many things—photographer, puppeteer, father—he strives to be good in some of them.

Stephen Chin is a Java evangelist at Oracle specializing in UI technology, and is co-author of Pro JavaFX Platform 2, which is the leading technical reference for JavaFX. He has been featured at Java conferences around the world including Devoxx, CodeMash, OSCON, J-Fall, GeeCON, Jazoon, and JavaOne, where he twice received a Java Rock Star award. As the JavaOne Content Chair Chin directs and manages the content evaluation and selection for JavaOne. In his evenings and on weekends, Chin is an open-source hacker, working on projects including ScalaFX, a DSL for JavaFX in the Scala language; Visage, a UI-oriented JVM language; JFXtras, a JavaFX component and extension library; and Apropos, an Agile Project Portfolio scheduling tool written in JavaFX.
