Gallup Inc. Goes Live on Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition
Gallup, Inc.—a global leader in relevant, timely, and visionary research—has deployed Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition Plus (Oracle BI EE Plus) to deliver actionable, fact-based information and reports to both internal and external clients.

Gallup went live with Oracle BI EE Plus in February 2008 to deliver dashboards and reports to its executive management, finance, accounting, and sales teams.

In September 2008, Gallup then extended Oracle BI EE Plus to its first external customer—and expects to serve 100 percent of its external clients by end of 2010.

Lower Cost, Better Service
Experts in human nature and human behavior for more than 70 years, Gallup made self-service a key to its overall BI strategy.

“Oracle BI EE Plus is a product that is powerful yet simple enough that the development of the dashboards, reports, and scorecards has been passed to the business users from IT,” said Jim Collison, Oracle product manager at Gallup.

“We now provide our business users with a self-service analytics and reporting platform that delivers access to the necessary data and tools in a controlled and secure environment at a lower total cost to IT," adds Collison.

How Gallup Made It Happen
Oracle BI EE Plus is used within Gallup to analyze and query data sourced from its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system—the Oracle E-Business Suite—specifically from the Oracle Financials, Oracle Marketing, and Oracle Sales modules.

In addition, Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher is used widely across Gallup to author, manage, and deliver the company’s pixel-perfect reporting needs.

And a clustered Oracle Database environment helps ensure that client research as well as operational data is highly available and secure.

At the beginning of the processes, Gallup engaged Oracle Consulting to help ensure it had the proper foundation in place to install and implement Oracle BI EE Plus quickly and efficiently.

Gallup also worked with Optimum Solutions, a Certified Advantage Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, to extend the authentication capabilities from Gallup’s portal to Oracle BI EE Plus so that external clients can access their reports as needed.
