More Than 300 Sessions at OpenWorld 2007 to Focus on Business Intelligence

With business intelligence (BI) a top priority for business and IT decision-makers across industries, this year's Oracle OpenWorld, to be held in San Francisco November 11–15, will feature more than 300 individual sessions devoted to BI and performance management, ranging from detailed roadmaps to customer case studies.

In addition, Oracle experts will showcase the latest BI solutions at 40 demonstration pods at the exhibition hall.

In the fast-paced world of BI, OOW attendees will gain practical insight on integration between Oracle and Hyperion, how to best leverage existing investments, and strategies for extending BI capabilities pervasively across the enterprise.

"Oracle OpenWorld also offers an unprecedented opportunity for attendees to network and share best practices with Oracle, partners, and other BI customers," says Thomas Kurian, senior vice president of development for Oracle middleware platform products.

Leverage Existing Investments
"A year ago, Oracle significantly reoriented our business intelligence product suite, shifting our focus from offering a solution that works for Oracle-only environments toward offering a best-of-breed business intelligence product family that will work with heterogeneous information sources in an enterprise, both Oracle and non-Oracle," says Paul Rodwick, vice president, product management at Oracle.

With the acquisition of Hyperion, Oracle's comprehensive Business Intelligence product line has been extended with new capabilities.

At this year's OpenWorld conference, attendees will learn how Hyperion's enterprise performance management software, coupled with Oracle's Business Intelligence tools, platform, and analytic applications, form an end-to-end performance management system spanning planning, budgeting, consolidation, prebuilt operational analytics, and compliance reporting.

Special Tracks for Hyperion Customers
For customers of Oracle's Hyperion solutions, a two-day program on Monday, November 12 and Tuesday, November 13, has been created to help customers learn about Oracle's vision for Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence—including the roadmap for how Hyperion's products are being integrated with Oracle's platform and applications.

This special program offers more than 80 sessions delivered by Hyperion product experts, customers, and partners. Attendees will get the latest product information on Hyperion's Financial Performance Management Applications, Hyperion Essbase, and Hyperion's Business Intelligence tools, including continued product innovations.

In addition, Hyperion customers will gain an understanding of how they can augment their Hyperion solutions with Oracle's BI platform, tools, and operational analytic applications.
