Release Highlights: BI EE 10.1.3.4 Delivers Deep Integration with Oracle EPM System

Released August 2008, Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (BI EE) 10.1.3.4 brings key new enhancements as well as deep integration with Oracle's comprehensive Enterprise Performance Management system.

In particular, the new release integrates BI content with Oracle EPM Workspace, Oracle Smart View for Office, and Oracle Smart Space.

Information Where You Use It
Oracle EPM Workspace consolidates access to EPM catalogs and applications within a single, thin-client UI. With the launch of BI EE 10.1.3.4, users can access BI content within the Oracle EPM workspace, as well as create and edit content.

Oracle Smart View provides a comprehensive tool for accessing and integrating EPM and BI content within Microsoft Office products. With BI EE 10.1.3.4, the Oracle BI server simply acts as another data source in Oracle Smart View, thanks to connections via JDBC.

The latest release also makes it easy to integrate Oracle BI content with other data sources in Office clients, including Oracle Essbase and Oracle Hyperion planning and reporting applications.

In addition, BI EE 10.1.3.4 integrates BI content into Oracle Smart Space, which supports free-floating, desktop gadgets that leverage existing reports and dashboards. The results: real-time collaboration and decision-making.

Other Key BI Enhancements
BI EE 10.1.3.4 includes a host of other new features and enhancements, including

  • Additional platform certifications
  • BI Publisher enhancements
  • BI Office add-in enhancements
  • Discoverer Migration Utility
  • Updated best practices sample application
