Latest Oracle EPM Release Provides Turnkey Integration with Key Oracle Financial Applications

Thanks to the new Enterprise Resource Planning Integrator, the latest release of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management now extends turnkey integration with a range of key Oracle applications to speed implementations and increase data integrity.

With ERP Integrator, customers can integrate Oracle E-Business Suite General Ledger and Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise General Ledger metadata directly into Oracle Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle Hyperion Planning.

“One of the key challenges that organizations deploying enterprise performance management solutions face is ensuring that data and metadata remain synchronized, often in real time,” says Robin Ranzal, president, Ranzal & Associates, an EPM consulting firm.

“The new ERP Integrator addresses this critical dependency by allowing organizations to source metadata and data directly from their ERP systems. This advance can deliver an improved ROI—not only for an organization’s EPM investment, but also for their ERP investment,” explains Ranzal.

In addition, ERP Integrator also provides

  • Bidirectional data integration for financial budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Drill-through from EPM applications to the transactional systems for faster analysis and closing cycles

Sharper Vision on Performance
Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Release 11.1.1.3 also includes enhanced simulation, calculations management, and geographic visualization features.

For example, Oracle EPM’s Calculation Manager, which enables you to graphically design, validate, and administer business rules, now supports Oracle Essbase, the industry-leading online analytical processing server.

This new release also features enhanced integration between Oracle Essbase and Oracle Crystal Ball, enabling inline simulation within the Hyperion Smart View for Excel interface. Now, end users can view, import, manipulate, distribute, and share Hyperion application and Essbase data in Microsoft Excel.

In addition, Oracle Essbase Visual Explorer introduces custom defined geographic levels that allow users to define their own mappings if the geographic dimension (for example, “Eastern Region”) lacks a standard geographic definition such as city, state, or country.

“Dealing with questions about information in financial reports can be a major overhead burden for finance departments,” said Scott Peters, director, Finit Solutions, an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner. “With Oracle’s new ERP Integrator, finance staff have a simple, direct, efficient tool for finding the answers to those questions.”
