OpenWorld Preview: Live Demos, Hands-On BI Labs, and Smart EPM Strategies

With more than 100 scheduled sessions, this year’s Oracle OpenWorld conference will provide unprecedented insight into the breadth of Oracle’s Business Intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management portfolio.

The conference, set to take place October 11-15 in San Francisco’s Moscone Center, will also include 25 Oracle EPM and BI demo pods, plus three hands-on labs where attendees can interact directly with live versions of Oracle products, including Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Oracle Business Intelligence Applications, and Oracle Essbase.

Smart Strategies
A keynote address by John Kopcke, senior vice president of Business Intelligence and Performance Management, will address smart strategies for EPM—the ways that companies can leverage BI and EPM to maintain a long-term leadership position while successfully managing day-to-day operations in today’s uncertain economic climate.

Don’t-Miss Sessions
Besides Kopcke’s keynote, some of this year’s most anticipated sessions include

  • Super Session: Extreme Intelligence—From Storage to Scorecard. John Kopcke and Frank Buytendijk debate how you need to combine vision and execution to be successful with BI, and why you should care about data warehouses, data integration, and other technology issues.

  • Oracle Development Panel—Meet the Experts. Hear from the teams who built Oracle’s EPM and BI products and take the opportunity to ask them questions.

  • Oracle BI Strategy and Road Map. Gain insight into the big-picture strategy of Oracle BI as well as specific plans for executing on that strategy.

  • Development Strategy for Oracle's Enterprise Performance Management System. Get the latest update on the strategy for Oracle EPM, including key developments delivered over the past year and strategic direction for the future.

  • Oracle Enterprise Performance Management at Continental Airlines. Learn how Continental successfully implemented Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle Hyperion Planning, and Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance—all in a matter of months.
