Hewlett-Packard Selects Oracle to Help Drive Data Center Transformation for the Public Sector

Hewlett-Packard has invited Oracle to participate in a new series of live and Web-based events that address the special challenges faced by federal, state, and local agencies as they modernize their IT data centers.

Called "Total Enterprise Data Center Transformation Solution," the event series grew out of a strong, long-standing partnership between Oracle and HP. This latest initiative combines Oracle Grid Computing with HP architecture to provide a single, comprehensive solution that meets the specific needs of public sector organizations.

The HP/Oracle events are designed to lay out a clear path to solutions that automate routine, operational, and end-to-end processes, enable sustained growth, and minimize both down time and total cost of ownership (TCO).

The series includes two on-demand webinars: "Data Transformation: Achieving an Enterprise-Centric, Secure, and Collaborative Environment” and "Blue Print for Change...Next Steps to Enterprise Data Center Transformation."

In addition, HP and Oracle will hold two live, onsite seminars titled "Enterprise-Centric Data Centers, Collaboration and Information Sharing, and Secure and Protected," scheduled for August 26, 2008, in San Diego, California, and September 17, 2008, in Washington, DC.

Targeting Public Sector's Unique Challenges

Public sector IT professionals face a complex set of tasks. They've been charged with simplifying operations while expanding information sharing and collaboration. Yet in doing so, they must ensure strict adherence to mandated privacy and security requirements.

At the same time, budget pressures require that any initiative maximize resources, for example, leveraging legacy investments while integrating new technologies.

Finally, integrating systems means balancing the needs of multiple constituencies with varying interests and agendas, while trying to overcome organizational and cultural barriers.

Designed specifically for public sector professionals, the HP-hosted events series addresses each of these unique challenges.
