Oracle Unveils Road Map and Pricing for New Enterprise Content Management Suite

Building on last year's acquisition of Stellent, Oracle has unveiled a road map for the industry's most-comprehensive and unified content management product portfolio.

Oracle developers have already integrated Stellent's industry-leading technology into the Oracle technology stack. Now they're building a new suite of advanced products that address every aspect of content management, including archiving and imaging, Web content and document management, and records and retention management.

At the same time, the solution's architecture is "hot-pluggable," providing simultaneous, out-of-the-box support for Oracle and third-party repositories, identity management systems, and enterprise applications.

The new content management products include:

  • Oracle Universal Content Management. Enables deployment of multisite Web content management, document management, digital asset management, and records and retention management solutions—all on a single platform.

  • Oracle Universal Records Management. Provides a comprehensive DoD 5015.2–compliant records management system. Enables organizations to apply policies and practices to content in remote, multiple repositories and applications, including file systems, content management systems, e-mail archives, and physical records.

  • Oracle Information Rights Management. Provides policy-based security and retention management via encryption that "seals" documents for security and tracking, regardless of location. Organizations can define fine-grained policies for viewing, editing, printing, and copying documents.

  • Oracle Imaging and Process Management. Supports highly scalable, process-oriented imaging applications—from creation to archiving—that automate back-office operations. Includes certified integrations with Oracle Applications (including Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle's JD Edwards, and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise) as well as third-party business applications.

  • Oracle Content Database Suite. Provides a complete content infrastructure based on the highly scalable, industry-leading Oracle Database. Supports file server and archive consolidation as well as a content repository to power content-centric applications.

Availability and Pricing
Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite, which will bundle Oracle Universal Content Management, Oracle Imaging and Process Management, and Oracle Universal Records Management, is available at US$150,000 per processor.
