Latest Web 2.0 Technology Gives Edge to Siebel CRM On Demand

The most comprehensive release of Oracle Siebel CRM On Demand since the product's introduction more than three years ago, Siebel CRM On Demand Release 14 contains a wide range of new functionality—including innovative Web 2.0 and Ajax browser technology—that dramatically increases the productivity and effectiveness of sales, marketing, and service teams.

The innovations are significant enough that, after previewing Siebel CRM On Demand Release 14, independent analyst Gartner wrote that it demonstrates Oracle's "renewed commitment to the software-as-a-service delivery model."

Faster Adoption, Easier Administration
With the introduction of Web 2.0 and Ajax browser technology, Siebel CRM On Demand Release 14 vastly improves the user experience, which speeds adoption. Just as important, business users, rather than IT staff, can administer the application, thus enforcing best practices while at the same time being able to change business processes easily as conditions change.

In addition, enhanced integration with other applications (see the article on E-Business Integration Packs for CRM On Demand) provides the same seamless experience that Web 2.0 technology makes possible at the UI level, so agents complete complex tasks, such as generating quotes, more fluidly and quickly, providing better service to constituents.

"And of course all this comes on top of enhanced functionality for the industry's most comprehensive CRM capabilities across sales, marketing and service," says Steve Diamond, senior director of product marketing, Oracle CRM On Demand.

Next-Generation Usability
Siebel CRM On Demand Release 14 provides tools that easily enable users to create page configurations that best suit the way they work. For example, it supports dynamic layouts to reduce clutter and mashups for seamless access to information. In addition, inline edit and smart associations improve the user experience during updates—all without plug-ins, ActiveX controls, or downloads.

Best Practices On the Fly
A series of new features also make it possible for business users to incorporate best practices into business processes with unprecedented ease.

For example, new built-in workflow automatically triggers actions to ensure consistent implementation of best practices. In addition, advanced field management functions make it easier to enforce best practices by providing default field values and custom-scripted field validation rules.

In addition, Siebel CRM On Demand's more comprehensive integrations with other Oracle applications streamline the setup of business processes across front- and back-office applications—and speed time to value.

"Siebel CRM On Demand was created to make sales, marketing, and service teams more effective, agile, and competitive," says Diamond. "Release 14 takes it to a whole new level."
