New Social and Collaborative CRM Features in Oracle CRM On Demand Drive End-User Productivity

With the March 11th launch of Oracle CRM On Demand Release 15, Oracle has built key Web 2.0 features into the heart of customer transactions to boost productivity and effectiveness across sales, marketing, and service teams.

Known collectively as "Social CRM," these new capabilities include a centralized message center, support for intelligent sticky notes, and increased support for mashups and widgets, all of which help ensure users have the information they need at their fingertips.

"Business interactions are social in nature. 'Social CRM' captures that networking and collaborative spirit in our latest on-demand offering,” explains Steve Diamond, senior director of Oracle CRM On Demand product marketing. "The result is a sales team that performs with higher levels of productivity and effectiveness."

Sticky Notes and Message Center
The new features help eliminate time wasted looking for bits of information buried in CRM records. Users can, for example, subscribe to Sticky Notes for key accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities, which ensures they receive notification of updates by team members as they occur.

In addition, Sticky Notes can be marked private, public, or addressed to a particular user. And, with a centralized Message Center, users can easily track, manage, and respond to subscribed notes

Increased Adoption, Higher Productivity, Greater Intelligence
In addition, new widgets are enabling users to embed Oracle CRM On Demand components right into their desktops, as well as preferred portals such as iGoogle or MyYahoo!, ensuring they have access to the latest CRM information, whenever and wherever they need it.

At the same time, support for Web applets and RSS feeds make it easy for users to embed external Web content within any Oracle CRM On Demand page or action bar. For example, contextual information from social networking sites can be incorporated directly into Oracle CRM On Demand contact detail pages, giving users the additional insight they need to close a deal or serve customers better.

Users can also rapidly and easily build custom analytics dashboards according to their specific business needs.

"These new features provide everyone from executives to inside sales representatives with a consolidated view of the most relevant information and insight when they need it," says Diamond.
