Users Can Now Tailor Siebel CRM On Demand to Drive Higher Performance

With the latest release of Oracle’s Siebel CRM On Demand, business users can now quickly and easily customize their application to drive higher performance—without waiting for assistance from overburdened IT teams.

“With [Siebel CRM On Demand] Release 14, business administrators can quickly establish workflows or other processes that can immediately boost the productivity of dozens or even hundreds of people—and also make their life a lot easier,” says Steve Diamond, Oracle’s senior director of product marketing for Siebel CRM On Demand.

Smarter Business Processes on the Fly
With intuitive tools for comprehensive workflow and scripting, Siebel CRM On Demand 14 enables organizations to rapidly embed best practices and proactively drive action. For example, a business administrator can quickly create a workflow rule that notifies a manager whenever a salesperson creates an opportunity. Alternately, the notification could go out only if the revenue potential exceeds a certain level. Or it could be automatically tailored to include specific language depending on the size or kind of opportunity.

Siebel CRM On Demand 14 also provides advanced but easy-to-use tools for field management, including default field values and custom scripted field validation rules. The result: the ability to create and alter processes quickly while still conforming to best practices.

Smarter Data, More Powerful User Interface
Besides business processes, advanced customization extends to both data management and the user interface (UI), according to Diamond.

Multiselect and cascading pick lists, for example, streamline data entry by allowing users to select multiple predefined and custom values. The result: fewer errors and more-rapid task completion.

Siebel CRM On Demand 14 also organizations to configure different layouts for different kinds of records to reduce clutter and present end users with only the information they need to be productive.

And UI integration and extensions enable organizations to embed external content as well as custom HTML to create a Web 2.0-style mashup.

Finally, expanded search configuration tools enable companies to more finely tune the search interface to produce highly relevant search results for end users.

CRM by the Book
For complex, cross-matrixed enterprises, Siebel CRM On Demand 14 also makes it easy to quickly create “books.”

“A book provides a way of segmenting data according to the organizational units of your company, such as territories or products,” explains Diamond.

With Siebel CRM On Demand 14, you can quickly set up book hierarchies based on how you want to organize your information, and then provide users the appropriate level of access to books depending on their role and geography.

“Books allow users to quickly and easily gain access to the information that matters most to them, even in large data sets,” says Diamond.
