Oracle OpenWorld 2008 News: New Social CRM and iPhone CRM Applications
At last month's OpenWorld conference, Oracle announced new applications that extend Oracle's leadership in two of the most important trends in CRM: social CRM and mobile CRM.
Collaborative Campaign Execution and Sales Presentation Development
First, Oracle announced Oracle Sales Campaigns and Oracle Sales Library—two new Oracle Social CRM Applications built on the Oracle Social Applications Framework.
Designed to foster collaboration from the bottom up, Oracle Sales Campaigns offers intuitive, graphical tools for creating high-quality HTML campaigns combined with an array of social networking tools such as tagging, ratings, and comments.
Like Oracle Sales Campaigns, Oracle Sales Library provides tools for rating, reviewing, and tagging slides so that representatives across an organization can take advantage of “the network effect” and quickly and easily access the most compelling materials available for developing highly effective sales presentations.
“These applications are another strong example of Oracle’s dedication to breaking new ground in the latest technology revolution, keeping us at the forefront of innovation in social CRM and Enterprise 2.0," says Anthony Lye, Oracle senior vice president of CRM.
On-the-Go Access to Customer and Pipeline Information via iPhone
Oracle also announced that Oracle Mobile Sales Assistant and Oracle Mobile Sales Forecast will be available this November for free as a download from the Apple App Store.
Leveraging the unique iPhone user experience, Oracle Mobile Sales Assistant allows users to easily access and quickly update contacts, users, accounts, new opportunities, and leads.
Oracle Mobile Sales Assistant will bring the CRM Calendar, Task List, and Message Center to the user in a familiar iPhone user interface. It will integrate the mapping, phone, and e-mail services native to the iPhone.
With Oracle Mobile Sales Forecast for iPhone, sales representatives will be able to conduct what-if analyses and compare forecasts to quotas—on the fly or on the way to and from meetings.
“With 45 percent of companies stating mobile access through wireless technologies is the most strategic decision impacting their business application decisions for the future, Oracle Mobile Sales Assistant and Oracle Mobile Forecast for the iPhone are meeting crucial needs of sales people and businesses,” says Sheryl Kingstone, director of enterprise research, Yankee Group.
