Businesses Worldwide Moving Up to Oracle Database 11g

Businesses around the world from varied industries are upgrading to the latest release of Oracle Database to improve application performance, availability, and scalability. Four such companies are Vietnam's NaviBank, Singapore's Olam International, Argentina's Pago Facil, and California-based Xactly Corporation.

NaviBank upgraded to Oracle Database 11g to power its core banking and card management application and chose Oracle Active Data Guard to get more from its disaster recovery system.

Xactly Corporation, the leading provider in 100 percent on-demand software for sales performance management, also chose Active Data Guard when upgrading to Oracle Database 11g. "The upgrade to Oracle Database 11g enables us to meet the performance and availability needs of our customers today while allowing us to accommodate new customers efficiently," says Satish Palvai, co-founder and chief technology officer, Xactly Corporation.

Olam International, a leading global supply chain manager of agricultural products and food ingredients, upgraded to Oracle Database 11g from Oracle9i Database on Windows 2003. The move has improved the performance of Olam's reporting system by 100 percent while allowing more concurrent users of the reporting system.

Pago Facil, the leading provider of electronic payment services in Argentina, deployed Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Real Application Clusters on two nodes of IBM servers running on Linux to power its Web payment system. "Oracle Database 11g enabled us to achieve a steady and fast-growing platform, lower our costs, and optimize the responsiveness to our customers by 50 percent," said Fernando Gaviria Lareo, team application leader, Pago Facil.

These customers join a growing list of organizations benefiting from Oracle Database 11g, including Melbourne Health; Mobiltel, serving more than 5 million mobile customers in Bulgaria; the Northern California Power Agency; and RTL, France's leading radio network.
