Independent Software Vendors Rely on Oracle Database 11g
Features and options available in the latest version of Oracle’s flagship database, Oracle Database 11g, are proving valuable to independent software vendors (ISV). ISVs including Motorola Printrak, RedPrairie, and Xactly Corporation are seeing the benefits of recent upgrades.
Motorola’s Biometrics Solutions division, a global leader in biometrics identification, chose Oracle Database 11g for its Motorola Printrak Biometric Identification Solution (Printrak BIS). Printrak BIS is used throughout the world to support criminal investigations, background checking, biometric visas and passports, and more.
Motorola Printrak BIS enables customers to capture, process, search, and store multiple biometrics in a single, integrated solution. It relies on the Oracle SecureFiles feature of Oracle Database 11g to manage content such as images, audio, video, PDFs, spreadsheets, among other files in the database. The solution delivers much higher performance for file data management compared with traditional file systems while also providing the availability and security features of Oracle.
