New Oracle Real User Experience Insight Helps Maximize Value of IT Investment

By integrating performance and usage analysis into a single offering, the new Oracle Real User Experience Insight provides unparalleled insight into the experience of users of SOA and Web-based applications.

A key element of Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Real User Experience Insight captures initial user requests and tracks them through all responses.

“With a 360-degree view of user interactions, Oracle Real User Experience Insight enables enterprises to isolate and remediate user problems before they impact the business, resulting in increased customer satisfaction, revenue, and productivity," explains Rajiv Taori, director of product management.

And Oracle Real User Experience Insight employs state-of-the-art network protocol analysis (NPA) technology, which requires no modification, changes, or instrumentation of the application.

This passive monitoring approach allows enterprises to deploy in production, without requiring costly validation in a testing or QA environment.

Application, Server, Network: Understanding All-Around Performance
Because of the breadth and depth of information Oracle Real User Experience Insight is able to gather and analyze, it can provide a true, all-around picture of performance, from application components to servers and networks.

For example, it can determine which parts of an organization's applications are causing issues, the amount of time a business transaction requires, and how long it takes to search, select, and pay for a product.

Oracle Real User Experience Insight can also answer pressing questions about performance and usage of XML-based Web Services and SOA-based applications.

Finally, it can measure server response time and determine the load levels at which service is impacted, as well as network roundtrip times.

"As a result, IT can resolve issues faster by quickly excluding insignificant elements to zoom in on what’s really critical," says Taori.

Accelerators for Oracle Applications
Understanding user experience for business-critical applications such as CRM and ERP packaged applications is particularly challenging. In response, Oracle has recently shipped its accelerator for Siebel and E-Business Suite, and the accelerator for PeopleSoft is in development.

These accelerators simplify the process of deploying user experience monitoring for Oracle Applications by automatically discovering deployed application modules and understanding user interactions.
