Preview: Enterprise Manager to Take Leading Role at Oracle OpenWorld
With a lineup that includes eight hands-on labs and more than 40 individual sessions, Oracle Enterprise Manager will play a much more visible role at this year’s Oracle OpenWorld conference, October 11-15 in San Francisco’s Moscone Center.
As evidence of Oracle Enterprise Manager’s growing importance, this year’s conference will include a new dedicated stream titled Management and Infrastructure, providing best practices and solutions for Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Oracle Virtual Machine, as well as other infrastructure elements in Oracle’s product portfolio.
The new stream will include a general session devoted to enterprise management and virtualization, titled Get the Most Out of Virtualization: Manage Top-down from Application to Disk.
Presenters Richard Sarwal, Oracle senior vice president of product development, and Edward Screven, Oracle’s chief corporate architect, will explore the ways that new capabilities in Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle VM simplify deployment, reduce costs, and boost service quality in virtual, physical, and hybrid environments.
Customers Speak A wide range of Oracle Enterprise Manager customers will participate in Oracle OpenWorld this year.
Naveen Garg, manager of global database and internet infrastructure at pharmaceutical leader Colorcon, will discuss the ways Oracle Enterprise Manager provides a top-down view for managing services, applications, and the IT technologies that support them.
